AKL Restaurants: Can you see animals from them?

No. And it was designed that way to prevent a hoard of people trying to eat at those restaurants just to see an animal "show".
However-there is a vewing area just outside the main lobby where you can walk before (or after) dinner to see the animals. What time you are there generally governs what (if any) animals you'll see. We usually eat at Jiko'saround 6:00 PM --at that time, all we've ever seen were a few sleepy cattle and lots of birds.

Again, the answer is no, but as pointed out, the viewing areas are very accessible from the restaurants (there is one near the pool area, and another off the main lobby).

..there are 2 viewing areas off the lobby. When you enter the front doors of the lobby and walk directly across to the opposite wall, you descend a flight of stairs and exit a glass door. This is Arusha Rock, where you can view animals. We have seen the Ankole cattle, ostriches, and giraffe here. However, just before you walk down the stairs, directly to your left is an enclosed alcove. There are several doors which lead outside and you find yourself on a balcony, where here, too, you can view several animals. And, of course, you can see more animals beyond the pool area!! It's alot of fun. Be warned, though. The wonderful scents of dinner will have you leaving...
