AKL questions?

We are planning a trip and thinking of trying out the AKL this time, has anyone been there since the new side has been opened up. Is there still just one bus area to the parks? Are they over crowded and can u find ur party waiting long periods of time for buses? Are the restuarants and pools over crowded? Looking at the map I have noticed some of the rooms are out there and seems like there can be some long walks to pool or buses or lobby? We are going to be staying in a 1 bedroom with a 3 yr old and 5 mos old, any room suggestions or buildings? Thanks
