AKL Question

I have never even laid eyes on the AKL & am very about that! On our trip in December, we are staying at or eating at every deluxe except for AKL.

I showed DH the menus for Jiko and Boma and he said "PASS!"

So, my question is: what can plan to do at AKL to see the resort but does not involve eating?

I know we could just go, look around and then off to another place. I was just wondering if there was some other event that takes place there so we had more of reason for going other than just nosiness and curiousity

I think they have story telling and they have animal talks, I believe.

The steak at Jiko is outstanding. Don't know if your hubby is a meat eater so to speak but if he enjoys a good steak then Jiko does fit that bill.

And the buffet at BOMA is to die for. They have a great selection of both african infulenced and standard american dishes, and the zebra domes........Well............even Dr. Atkins could not keep me from having 1 or 2.

(and I have lost 70 pounds on Atkins)

Boma's breakfast buffet is fabulous too - love that frunch and pressed pot coffee!

I agree, take him to Boma for breakfast. It's "normal" breakfast stuff, plus a few deliciious surprises.

Try the breakfast buffet at Boma - perhaps one of the best breakfasts we have ever had (we are planning to eat there again during our next trip in April)! The breakfast has some African offerings, but, for the most part is just a wonderful "American" breakfast. Give it a try if time allows. (I know you asked for non-food activities, but I couldn't resist a chance to talk up the breakfast!)

Ha! I guess food it is...

I told DH that basically he had no choice and that ALL of the people on the Dis said that Boma and Jiko were terrific!

Thank you all....I guess we will also get the added bonus of seeing AKL at Christmas as well.
