AKL or WL Concierge?

I've stayed at AKL Conc. on three occasions and found it to be fantastic. We were not at all impressed with the transportation while at the resort, and found that the AKL is a great place to relax, but not necessarily a great launching pad for the theme parks. We are planning a trip in September, and are currently booked for a 1 resort 5 night stay at the AKL. My wife has mentioned that she would like to stay at the WL for better transportation and a change of pace (she's never stayed there), but I'm wondering about the concierge at the WL. Is it a full concierge? Is there a lounge? The food at the K. Club @ AKL is fantastic, how is it @ WL? Does anyone have any specific information about the Yellowstone or Yosemite suites (aren't those the VP and P suites?)? Please share any thoughts or impressions about the WL concierge level. Thanks.

Each of the suites you mentioned only sleeps 4 people. They are both on the 7th floor-concierge floor-one in the south wing and one in the north wing.

The "lounge" is an area on the seventh floor that overlooks the lobby and there are places to eat in the two wings jetting off from this area overlooking the lobby. It's nice and you don't have to worry about privacy because it is only concierge guests up there.

It is full concierge and it is pretty great but I don't know if you are going to like it as much as AKL. It may be good for a change of scenery. For instance, a full fruit platter at AKL is a bowl of chopped fruit on the WL concierge buffet. I'm not saying it isn't as good, it's just a little different. They usually have a soup and a hot entree in the evenings and some nice desserts that have a "wilderness" feel to them-i.e., cobbler, apple crisp, etc.

If you have been to AKL Conc. 3 times, definately try WL or maybe even check out the Poly or Contempory.

Most of the WL CM's were helpful. There were a couple of bad moments, but that can happen anywhere.

Our kids enjoyed the different foods each day and grabbing a lemonade from Concierge when they were thirsty. We also watched the water pageant there at night while having a little dessert.

Good luck with your planning.

I would go with WL concierge. We had a wonderful time there last month. The food offerings were good, the CM were helpful and friendly. The 'lounge' is nice, and gives you a private opportunity to really enjoy the lobby location. There are great views of Bay Lake from the concierge floor.

Definitely go for it!

Thanks for all of the info! I had no idea that these only sleep 4. What are the sleeping arrangements? DW and I are taking our niece and nephew (11 and 13 respectively) on their first trip, and sleeping in the same bed is not an option for them. Would you suggest another room? Is there another suite offering 3 separate beds or bunk beds?

From what I have read, each of the suites you mentioned has a king bed in the br and a pull out sofa in the lr.

You could try a deluxe room that has 2 queens in the br and a pull out sofa in the lr.

These do not come with concierge unless you were able to add it on at check-in.
