AKL night vision goggles - extra cost to rent?

is there a charge?
do they have enough for everyone or are they hard to get?
anyone ever bring their binoculars from home?
any other items to bring from home to make trip extra special?

I've seen two of them. They aren't goggles like military use, more like a small telescope. You use them for a few minutes then hand them back to the CM. You cna't take them with you to your room, and the CM stays pretty close to supervise where they are.

They are free to use, but you can't keep them for more than a few minutes while others are waiting.

We've brought binoculars from home when staying there in a savanah room, but wouldn't otherwise.)

my dh made me bring his high powerd telescope and the tripod..... we set it up on our balcony and i could count the hairs up the giraffes nose...lololol but we had hand held binoculars also and they were great.... i brought glow necklaces from home for my 9 yr old dd for the dark rides... vicki

If your video camera has "night vision" - the ability to switch over to tape at night without light, then the view through it is exactly the same as their night vision binocs.

I thought they were neat to use and the CM helped to point out were the animals were especially the baby Giraffee. Just a someone else stated they are nothing like the ones the military use (probably b/c of the money side) but you got to see with them. it was something different to do.

Definitely bring your binoculars from home. As for what else, your favourite wine! It's great sipping it on the balcony in the morn... ahem, evenings.
