AKL Must see and do?

What would be some must see's at AKL for a 10 year old boy?

What is the water slide like? How deep is the water where you come out? Is there a bar and place to get snacks/munchies by the pool? Anything you particularily recommend? Would it be okay to mix our own drinks in our room and bring them down to the pool?

Lots, if he likes animals.

Not big, like the Port Orleans on. You walk in, ad it slopes down. Deepest is about 4 9. Yes, nope didn't go to it. Probably.

It is also right next to The Mara, where you can buy mugs and fill them up.

Since its so shallow, it isnt very cold on a hot day. We went in, and weren't refreshed. Stay in the room

The pool slide is not as "cool" as the slide at POFQ, but the kids I saw seemed to enjoy it. They have some activities planned for the kids, they will give you a schedule at check in. There is a bar/snack bar right by the pool that serves drinks & munchies, also the pool is right by The Mara (the AKL food court) so you can grab a snack there as well. Mixing drinks in your room is not a problem, and would save a lot of money. The pool is "zero entry" which means you walk in and it is only about ankle deep, and it gradually slopes downward. We have stayed at AKL in November and in June, and enjoyed the pool both times, after a hot day at the parks it felt great. The AKL is a beautiful resort and has become one of our favorites. Make sure you take the time to talk to the Savannah Guides and the animal keepers, the have lots of information and they love to share.

I'm not sure what the "official" name for this is, but if he likes animals, he might really enjoy doing the Night Vision animal watch. They give you Night Vision goggles, and you get to view all of the animals through the goggles. It sure does sound neat! Have a WONDERFUL trip!!
