AKL LITE unofficial FAQ thread#10 - I believe that's known as a 'Jambo Dozen'

We stayed at Jambo a few years ago and the parking lot was across the road from the main entrance. There was no parking garage. It took no more than 2-3 minutes to get to our car. The only reason we had a car was our daughter was a cast member and we needed to drive to get to her housing area.
Awesome!! Good to know! My Dh couldnt make this trip, so I thought driving would be better than 1 adult, a 6 yo, a 2yo and a double stroller. Yikes!

Jambo House has a covered entry area that they will allow you to pull up and unload your luggage then self park or valet.

Also when we were there in 2010 they had a very large golf cart that they used as a shuttle between Kidani & Jambo all you have to do is ask a CM, if it's not at your location they can radio the driver to have them come pick you up.

I would recommend the Chocolate croissants these were are daily breakfast prior to heading to the parks and we used our snack credits for them. If you have no problem with mocha flavor your gonna love the Zebra Domes. OH Yumm
Sweet!! I am def going to try to check out both pools then!!! And I LOVE mocha, so I am sure I will love Zebra Domes. I cant wait to try them!

I am so excited to try AKL, and you all have been most helpful!!!:cool1:

We stayed AKL club level this past September. Our room was with the bunk beds which we didn't want, so we switched rooms. No children were with us.

Currently have both the Royal Assante & Royal Kuba Suite booked for 12 of us in July. Am seriously thinking about changing it to Royal Assante & two CL rooms. We would still have the bigger suite to gather in and it would save about $3000. Just found out we have additional taxes to pay.

I'm thinking we'd all end up in one suite anyway to visit except for sleeping. Make sense?

Hi all.... Just wanted to share with anyone thinking of heading out to California for DL...

We had a great time. Yes it is a different animal than WDW but equally awesome...And GCV was unbelievable. Sorta like AKL or WL....

Our room location for DVC studio was the best. Top floor facing DCA and the world of color. If I knew how to post a picture I would...I'll see if my Sister can post it for me....

Anyhow, now comes the planning for our next venture...Hopefully F&W.....Stay tuned..LoL

Well, the only difference I can see is that the two CL rooms could end up being far away from the Suite, but if you don't care about that and it would save the big bucks, I don't see why not.

p.s. Can I join you?????

I'd go for the cheaper option. We just got our property tax bill yesterday so I can empathize with the tax thing.

Sure!

Got our Disney tickets in today's mail and I linked them to our account. Next Thursday we can begin to pick our fast pass + for first part of our reservation. :cheer2:

Ok, I did it. Dropped the Royal Kuba Suite for two CL rooms. We are doing the Wanyama safari and I decided we wouldn't end up being in the room that much anyway.

Exactly 4 weeks away until our Kidani stay! Woo hoo! I'll have to keep counting down the days while more snow comes our way...

I am at 63 days!! I can check in Monday for our Expedition Everest Challenge Weekend!!!!

So excited! We just booked a "last minute" trip for May! It's for my birthday so I got to choose the hotel - and I picked AKL!!! Super excited! I haven't been there since 2001 and can't wait to take DH and DD3 there! :-) Planning to enjoy the pool a few times and just take in the ambiance of the resort! :-) Just thought that I'd say hello! :goodvibes

Hi. Wow, how exciting!! Will you be celebrating your birthday while you're at AKL?

Just got back, had a wonderful time at Kidani Village :goodvibes

We will be there for the our 1st WDW Trip ever on the 22nd. I requested low floor near lobby. Any tips? How was transportation. We will not have a car. Thanks!

Has anyone ever stayed at Kidani for a RunDisney event? I posted this on the Wine & Dine thread, but I thought I'd ask here too. We are considering a 2 bedroom savanna view for the Wine and Dine weekend. Even though it's not a host resort we were trying to figure out if we could drive over for the 5K since it's held at the AK park. Also, is there anywhere that shows where in Kidani the 2 bedroom savanna view rooms are located?

My husband and I stayed at Jambo a few years ago and LOVED it and I think the rest of my family traveling with us for the race would really enjoy it too. I feel like we loved Jambo so much I'm not sure about moving over to Kidani, but we need a 2 bedroom, and from what I can tell, any combination of standard rooms or villas offered at Jambo would end up costing us a lot more than a 2 bedroom at Kidani.

Thanks!

That is what we are wondering. My hubby just registered for the Wine & Dine Half yesterday and we both plan on doing the 5K. Wondering if we should switch resorts just to have the bus since we will not have a car?

If it isn't a host resort are we out of luck when it comes to transportation?
