AKL LITE unofficial FAQ thread#10 - I believe that's known as a 'Jambo Dozen'

I think what u are referring to is Rafiki's planet watch. You game the train In Animal Kingdom over to it. They have conservation stuff and hospital like atmosphere along with a lot of informative stuff. They also have a petting area that has several types of animals too....Conservation station I think.

I'll have to check but I think what I was looking at was a tour you used to be able to book.

AFTER CHECKING the closes thing I could find what Conservation Station, I don't think they do the tour anymore that I am remembering. :(

So each club level standard view is guaranteed a ARUSHA Savannah room? Sorry for sounding so questionable, just making sure! Because I would drop the club level in a heart beat to get the best view!

Sorry, I've been gone all day.

YES, Club Level is a guaranteed Savannah View - yes, I know that is confusing!! ;)

We love the Sunrise Safari more for the breakfast at the end of the Safari than the safari itself! :thumbsup2 You're in a private room in Pizzafari, with a wonderful breakfast buffet that has American food but also traditional African food, PLUS the guides stay for breakfast and it's a great opportunity to have one-on-one time with them! :goodvibes (You must be staying Club Level to do this.)

The Wanyama Safari is the evening one that takes place on the Jambo savannahs at the Lodge, concluding with a wonderful dinner at Jiko. Much smaller group for that (and any guest at AKL can book it), but the guides do not stay for dinner - I wish they could (they do too!)

There's a behind the scenes tour called Backstage Safari at the AK park. Check for that one -- we've done it twice and love it!!

AWESOME, thank you! :worship:

It's gonna be club level stay from everything I have heard!

Thank you so very much for all the info. I just know we are going to have a wonderful time! :woohoo:

Has anyone from club level done this before?

"Rise and shine for an early-morning expedition at Disney's Animal Kingdom park and a hot, hearty breakfast afterward.

Wake When the Animals Do
Only for Kilimanjaro Club Level Guests, this morning safari offers a relaxed pace and animals aplenty.

Board a rugged, open-sided Kilimanjaro Safaris vehicle and enjoy the benefits of a small group: greater flexibility, multiple stops for photos, in-depth information about the animals you encounter and more interaction with your guide.

The early time slot means no vehicles behind you, so your group has the freedom to linger should any animals decide to put on a show. And at that hour, when they're rested and refreshed, they just might!

Animals you may spot as you cross the Harambe Wildlife Reserve include okapi, lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, elephants and gazelles. You'll also gain insider insights on Disney's animal care and park operations." ~ Quoted from the WDW website

THIS SOUNDS AMAZING!

We did it in both 06 and 09. Lots of animals and great breakfast both times! You need a park ticket to go on the tour, so you might as well stay in the park as you finish b'fast right around opening time.

That is wonderful, very kewl  getting more and more excited about this trip by the second....

I get up for work every morning around 4:30 AM so the 6:30 - 6:45 gathering time doesn't bother me. :coffee:

Do you stay in the park after the tour?

....well that is your choice, but be aware that you need a valid park pass to get in...I thought it was cool that they gave us a fastpass to return that day at any time!

We'll have a full park hopper pass set for each day we stay at WDW so no worries :) FP for an anytime return is AWESOME!

Jambo everyone :wave2:

Question: we're thinking about paying for an upgrade to CL when we arrive next month... are we able to do this or is paying for an upgrade not possible at check in :confused3

Thanks much :goodvibes

Kimmar, they quit giving FastPasses for a return ride 3 or 4 years ago! ;)

The Pizzafari breakfast actually starts around 9, when guests are entering the park.

No need to worry any longer about getting to the machines and getting FPs -- the machines are all gone from AK and with FP+ you will have already scheduled your FastPasses for the day! :thumbsup2

Jambo! Depends how busy the resort is, but be warned -- they don't do like in the "old" days where they'd charge a small fee to upgrade. You would be expected to pay the full Club Level rate.

If you have your heart set on CL, you would be better off to upgrade your reservation now.
