AKL LITE unofficial FAQ thread#10 - I believe that's known as a 'Jambo Dozen'

I will take a queen size bed and view over a king size bed. I like alot of different types of animals, is there a list of which ones are in view of which rooms?

I also just noticed that I don't want a suit but the only non suite in club level is standard view?!?! Worried about this.... I thought standard view is not necessarily the best view?

I'm not sure there's a list of which animals on each savannah. :confused3 Arusha Savannah is the Savannah you would most likely get for Club Level -- it is also the most desirable one: if you check the pricing, "Arusha" is a booking category and it costs more than a generic Savannah View booking.

Club Level Standard View is a Guaranteed Savannah View. No worries.

So each club level standard view is guaranteed a ARUSHA Savannah room? Sorry for sounding so questionable, just making sure! Because I would drop the club level in a heart beat to get the best view!

Has anyone from club level done this before?

"Rise and shine for an early-morning expedition at Disney's Animal Kingdom park and a hot, hearty breakfast afterward.

Wake When the Animals Do
Only for Kilimanjaro Club Level Guests, this morning safari offers a relaxed pace and animals aplenty.

Board a rugged, open-sided Kilimanjaro Safaris vehicle and enjoy the benefits of a small group: greater flexibility, multiple stops for photos, in-depth information about the animals you encounter and more interaction with your guide.

The early time slot means no vehicles behind you, so your group has the freedom to linger should any animals decide to put on a show. And at that hour, when they're rested and refreshed, they just might!

Animals you may spot as you cross the Harambe Wildlife Reserve include okapi, lions, giraffes, rhinos, zebras, elephants and gazelles. You'll also gain insider insights on Disney's animal care and park operations." ~ Quoted from the WDW website

THIS SOUNDS AMAZING!

We have it scheduled for our stay March 30, 2014. I read a review for it the other day. Let me see if I can find it.

....it's called the Sunrise Safari and it really IS pretty cool - our family enjoyed it immensely!

I showed this to my boyfriend and he wanted to do this as soon as he saw it.

I know there was a tour, not sure if it still exists, where you get to see the nursery and the animal hospital/care area is that part of this tour or another one?

....if you are definitely not a morning person, it's not for you because you will meet in the lounge between 6:30 and 6:45 to leave by 7AM.....the experience is unique and the breakfast is amazing....

We did the sunrise safari last September. We were disappointed. You are the first safari trucks on the savannah. However, not all the animals are out when you go. We saw more animals when we road the safari ride. It was nice that the driver could stop if there was a good view of an animal. The safari lasted approximately 35-45 minutes. The breakfast was fine. Normal breakfast fare. Scrambled eggs, made to order omelets, gravy, grits etc. I would say that the safari was ok. We are staying at AKL CL again in May and are not doing the safari. We love AKL and had a great stay. We had great views of the animals and spent a lot of time on our balcony.

....no, but you WILL see the CM's out in the open field tending to animals in their 'natural' habitat. Plus, the bus/truck moves along at its own pace because there is no one else on the property. The bus also takes you to a different AK entrance....

....wow, that's funny because the OPPOSITE happened with us....we saw many more animals during the early morning than we would have had we been on the regular safari....

Hello Friends!

I am booked for AKL Pool on May 2nd - 4th. I am entered for the Expedition Everest Challenge! Yay!

I totally agree! We LOVED the Sunrise Safari and saw tons and tons of animals. It was amazing, ad the breakfast was really yummy IMO. Probably one of my favorite experiences I've ever had at Disney. <3

I get up for work every morning around 4:30 AM so the 6:30 - 6:45 gathering time doesn't bother me. :coffee:

Do you stay in the park after the tour?

I think what u are referring to is Rafiki's planet watch. You game the train In Animal Kingdom over to it. They have conservation stuff and hospital like atmosphere along with a lot of informative stuff. They also have a petting area that has several types of animals too....Conservation station I think.

Oh that's kewl! ::yes:: The more I have read from you folks this safari so SO ON MY LIST of must dos! Which also means I am 100% certain I am going club level, was already leaning that way away but with this tour being club level guests only I am in!

Can anyone tell me how far in advance I can reserve this safari?

In addition what happens if there is bad weather? How good are they about rescheduling, or is this just a crap shoot?

:bitelip: Does anyone know about that other tour I spoke of, the one that takes you behind the scenes of the care/hospital and the nursery tour? :bitelip:
