Yes I read that a few days ago and was so happy we are staying November 9- 19 so we can have that experience, and especially now that it's going bye bye at the end of this year. I had considered canceling it since will be in WDW from Nov. 9-23 and I totally overbook special events to the point I'm wondering why I even booked club level yikes! Staying November 19-23 at RPCL at the Floridian so hopefully I can dial it back a bit for our last 4 nights.
I feel like a major over booker traveler LOL ... and now crazy me is trying to add 3 nights to the front of the trip to get more F&W time at Epcot! My husbands been shaking his head at me like enough is enough but he's so nice he says whatever you want to do ... No wonder we've been married almost 35 years he's incredible and I'm incredibly lucky : )

I do the same thing. I'm always thinking of things we havent done and trying to arrange a time to fit it in :rotfl:

Could someone please tell me if AKL still has comforters on the beds or have they converted to the triple sheeting with runner? :confused3 All the pictures I find have the comforters yet, but I thought all resorts have switched to triple sheeting.

Akl has triple sheeting. :thumbsup2
We stayed there in May 2014.

I found a video that tours the room, it's from 2014. Don't know who the lady is, but it gives you a good idea of the current rooms. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1T3BZWiaVc

I'm glad to see that AKL has triple sheeting on the beds. But I do wonder why the WDW website doesn't update their pics to reflect the current room decor.

Any DVC-ers on here? I'm probably going to be booking a 2-BR savanna view at Jambo House as a thank you for a friend who has been really good to me. (She has come to the hospital with me through a bunch of medical procedures.)

I'm hoping to be able to see giraffes out the window. Someone on the DVC boards posted a list of which animals are in which savannas, and it shows giraffes in Arusha, Sunset and Uzima Savannas.

Any suggestions on requests? Which savanna? Which trail? Anything more specific than that?

I know there are public viewing areas, and normally I don't care what's outside my window. But as I said, this trip is special.

(And I know I won't necessarily get what I request.)

I'm pretty sure that the Sunset Savannah is where you'd want to be then... I actually was on the Giraffe Trail ( ironically) the only time we stayed there. It was a value room facing the pool, and soo close to the bus stops & the main lobby.

If you request the Sunset Savannah , you may also get lucky and get near the Main lobby too....HTH:thumbsup2

Hi all. We are staying at Kidani next May and someone told me all the coffee pots had been replaced with Keurig's. Can someone verify this as truth or not? Thank you.

....Brandi may be better at answering that....I've never stayed at Kidani...:confused3

We are DVC members and have always requested the Arusha savannah. There are plenty of giraffes and we also had zebra, various birds and Ankole cattle.

Hello all! Dropping back in after a few months. Only two more months to go for me… :thumbsup2

Some refresher questions, because apparently things change at the speed of sound around the World!

- What is the delivery address for sending things to AKV-Kidani? (I think someone answered this one for me a bit back, I'll have to hunt my past posts)

- Would it make more sense to take a taxi/some kind of travel car to the nearest grocery store, get my things, and go back to AKV, or have them delivered? I do not drive, as I have no valid license or permit and am under 25 so most car rental companies won't touch me anyway. I know garden grocer delivers, but they have some seriously jacked up prices and a $14 delivery fee that's insane.

- The busses going from AKV/AKL to any park, do they stop at Kidani first, then Jambo, or vise versa?

I have a towncar pick me up at the airport (FL Tours or Tiffany Towncar) and stop at the grocery store on the way to the hotel. I don't know how that would compare, cost-wise, to taking a cab back and forth to the grocery store.

The buses to theme parks stop at Kidani first. The bus to Downtown Disney stops at Jambo first.

Some general info regarding the MBs:

I spoke to a CM today and explained that I wanted to use the 3-day PH passes that we have and not use the 2-day base tix that we bought with our Deluxe Dining Plan. She explained to me that the 1st ones associated with our bands will automatically be activated first. So, I will have to use the 3-day ones as paper ones, or I can just transfer them onto different bands....and, as long as we don't use our original MBs to enter a park they will be valid passes....
