Our requests this year were our 2 rooms close if possible, 2 bed and 1 bed, and on the bus side.. We had to wait for the 2 bed, but the 1 bed was ready about noon. we had 7323 for the 1bed and 7319 for the 2bed.. had the elevator between us, but still, plenty close enough, and all we had to do was take the elevator down, make a right out of it and the bus stop was right there! :thumbsup2

Rooms were clean and everything worked, or I had no complaints from anyone. Those were std view, nothing special. Buses were fine, honestly I just quit looking at times since almost always there was the bus we were looking for within 10 minutes max. There was one morning it seemed they didnt want us to go to the park we wanted to since there were multiples of other parks AND DTD that came thru, but even then still only waited like 10 minutes that day. The longest we waited was Friday the 19th leaving DHS at closing time. We just missed the bus and waited on the next one and it was probably close to 20 minutes. Think only one night did we actually have to wait for a 2nd bus because the one we wanted was full. Rides are longer from AKL, but heck I think some of that is just getting out of the resort lol.. We had 2 cars there from family that drove down, and they never moved. Not once. The buses are perfectly acceptable to our family.

Oh and I FINALLY used a pool on WDW property lol.. :lmao: Have made multiple trips in the last 5 years and this was the first time I used the pool. Kids LOVED the slide (who am I kidding, I loved the slide too) :rotfl2::cool1:

Did not eat at any of the AKL places this trip!! Not even a Boma breakfast :guilty:

I can see where people dont like the rooms because they do have very, very subdued lighting. Since we werent there during the day, and really only needed the room for sleeping and getting cleaned up, that's never an issue to us.. But I can see where some would not like that at all.

Check in was painless, they got credit cards assigned to the proper keys, across the two rooms, so that was very nice.

As I posted in another thread, the Mrs and I upgraded to DVC PAP's and they did try to charge us the non-bridged price. So I dont know if they are just hoping that people dont know about that, and dont volunteer that info or what.

That is one thing we did run into a LOT.. You dont get information volunteered, you always have to ask the questions. So dont be afraid to ask ANY question you may have. Especially about any discounts etc etc.

I'm glad you had a good trip. I agree that the lighting is a little low at AKV but after a few visits we have actually gotten used to it and don't mind it even a little bit anymore. We will be headed to Kidani for a stay in a Grand Villa next month and are very excited to show our extended family this great resort.
