I thought that these were DVC only?? I see that they are a bookable category in Dec for certain dates:confused3 :confused3 Also 1 Br Villa CL showing too :confused3 :confused3 Dates were the 24th to the 27th for Studio CL & 1 Br villa a few dates :confused3 :confused3 If i want to book should i do now or are they likely to disappear quick :confused3 :confused3 Oh & is the Studio bigger than a standard room at AKL??

Thanks

The studio will have a little kitchenette. I can't say what will happen with the public offering in terms of availability, but the DVC sudio CL's book up qicker than anything else...So, if you want it and you don't want to rent from an owner, you should grab it while you can.
If you check the availability board, you'll see the studio cl already listed with most dates as not available for anything within even the 11 month window.

A studio is larger than a standard room at AKL. When the AKL first opened, rooms on the 5th and 6th floor were called deluxe rooms. They were the only rooms at AKL that accommodated 5. Now they have been converted to villas with the exception of some suites.

What you are seeing are the CL rooms that are part of the regular Hotel. These rooms are on the 4th floor.

There are 5 2-bedroom lock-offs available on points. There can be a max of 10 rooms CL rooms available on points if reserved as 5 studios and 5 1-bedrooms.

When I used the dates you put in your first post, nothing appears for AKV Jambo House in CL. I did see CL rooms when looking at AKL which is the original hotel.

Wow - I see both a studio concierge and a 1BR concierge available thru CRO for those dates. :sad2: That is not good.

This is when looking at the Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo option - not looking at AKL hotel option.

Value's are coming up too! What?!?!?!?

WOW is what i thought when i saw them available through CRO,,,Are they usually DVC owners only that have them:confused3:confused3 I wonder how long it will be before they are booked through CRO & how have they become available through CRO :confused3
Are values DVC too??

Yes, Values are the lowest point rooms available and are the second smallest # of units available. I thought that both of these unit types were available on points only.

As an AKV owner I'm not happy to see this and wonder how often they have been doing this. :headache:

Ditto!

If there are CL DVC rooms available via CRO for December right now, isn't that outside of the 7-month window:confused3:confused3? That would mean that the competion for those rooms is not just among the AKV owners, but the entire population! On top of that, any DVC member who does NOT own at AKV and wants to book the CL rooms on points might get shut out by a cash guest before their booking window even opens. Not fair, IMHO.

I understand the whole exchange thing and different inventories and all that, but seriously, WHY would they exchange out the one room type with the smallest available inventory to start with? I bought AKV because I knew I'd need the 11-month window in order to book the value rooms. I can't believe that the general public can now book them at the same time that I can:mad:.

Could it not be that a DVC member has traded there points?? I have no idea how that works but if u play around with dates i can see no other availabilty through the year for the Studio CL or the 1 BR CL Villa:confused3:confused3

Yes, that should be the way that rooms go to CRO but DVC has the option of what type of rooms they release for the exchange. AFAIK at BWV they never release the boardwalk view or the standard view which are kind of the two comparables to the AKV Concierge and value.

I thought at AKV the only two types of rooms that were released are the Standard view and Savanna view.

Kristen - you are so correct! About the only time I might see these rooms being released was at the 60 day turn over to CRO but I don't even think that should happen with these two room categories.

I'm going to post another thread on the Mousecellaneous board and see if other's had different impressions on what is and isn't released.

Once (March 2009)I had a room on the 5th floor, but I had concierge access. Don't ask me how, I had used points. There was some sort of mixup, I know. It definitely was a studio and on the 5th floor and I had the gold key.

They have always had CL rooms on the 5th and 6th floor so it makes the DVC rooms are the same.

CRO bookings do not have the same restrictions as point bookings.

They could easily rent a villa on the 5th floor and allow Club level access without taking away a DVC point villa on the 6th floor.

Cash club guests are on the 4th floor with card access so it's not a stretch to rent DVC villas with club access.

I personally would not pay the cash rates for a 6th floor club level room over a 4 floor savannah view with club access.

We are booked in a DVC CL studio across those same dates, that I booked at exactly 11 months.
