So many things.... the pool areas at both resorts are great. We love the quick service at Jambo. The smell and vibe of the resort is amazing. We love to sit out by the fire at night with a drink. The animals are the main show for sure. If you talk with some of the cast members at the lookout areas, you will get some interesting information and insight into the animals. I believe his name is Marty, he loves those animals and knows them by name and personality.
The art around the resort is amazing. We love how it feels like a second vacation from the parks. It feels so relaxed and amazing to get back from a busy day at the parks. Our kids have great memories of the activities around the resort... including learning about different animal poop.
The cast members are the absolute BEST part of this resort... talk to as many as you can.... I swear some of our best interactions have been with cast members here... in so many areas, the restaurants, the gift shop, the bus stop, the lookout areas... honestly I have a story about each of these.
We stayed here as a splurge years ago, and that's when we bought into DVC, as we knew we needed to stay here more often instead of All Star Music. We now own here and have no regrets and look forward to coming back each year.

Ambiance. I love the smell of the resort and the background music. This place is so serene.

As much as I like the Savana view rooms, the public outlook spots are my favorite.

We stay at Jambo House... We've done both, hotel and villa rooms.
This is quickly becoming our favorite place to staycation ..... primarily for all the reasons that people usually give it a bad rap.
It's quiet but not too quiet.
It's close enough but just far away enough from all the hustle and bustle.
The resort is compact in comparison to other deluxe resorts.
We dont mind the limited food options, we just order groceries.
It's disney but a different type of disney.

I wouldn't get too wrapped around the view aspect of it. Yes, a standard room doesnt provide you a view of the animals, but we have yet to have a bad view. It gives us the opportunity to get out and explore the resort.

You'll love your trip to Kidani. As others have said, the vibe/pace of AVK is relaxing; I love the slower pace and the ability to wake up early in the morning and enjoy common spaces in the resort watching the animals wake up. An early breakfast in Sanaa is great if you're an early riser. Our family has enjoyed all the food options in both Jambo (close by) and Kidani. Sanaa, Jiko, and Boma are all great options, and Mara (QS) offers quick pickup. The pool bars offer drinks and snacks (Maji at Kidani and Uzima Springs at Jambo). There are fantastic healthy dishes for more adventurous and more conservative tastes. Hope you have a great trip and enjoy your time in Kidani!
