AKL in Early September?

I have AKL CL booked for Labor Day, going Aug 31 through Sept 6....and have "grave misgivings" about the weather. We are going at that time because of vacation time for DD and it just works for everybody. I'm not very familiar with Florida hurricane season and have only been to WDW during the spring.

Is it going to be hotter and steamier at AKL than elsewhere? Could that be a good thing, so we think we're really on an uncomfortable safari? Or should I change plans quick as a jackrabbit and stay someplace cooler?

I don't think AKL will be any hotter / steamier than any other resort. There are several public areas to view the animals. Some are inside.

The pool is awesome. It is zero entry........you walk into it like a beach.

AKL is our #1 favorite resort. And Boma is our favorite restaurant.

No hotter than anywhere else. With all the Savannah space and less pavement (think Contemporary) it may be cooler. Not pavement to hold the heat.

I never thought about the pavement issue, strat68. I guess I should have just asked the question as to whether some resorts overall feel cooler than others. Thanks for your input!

We find the Epcot area resorts to be the hottest (pavement factor and not much shade walking around). I would think that the AKL and the Poly would be the most comfortable. AKL with everything under one air conditioned roof would be my first choice!

Now I'm getting more and more excited for our trip every minute! I've never stayed in a club level room before, so I was really anxious for that, and now I'm so much more confident about choice of resort. Thank you for sharing your experience! We'll be ready in September with our ponchos!

You will love AKL CL! It's not going to be hotter. (Although it will be hot and there will be crazy rain that comes out of nowhere and lasts for a short while) There are so many shady areas, the pool is wonderful and to see the animals just amazing!

Now you have me dreaming of that hot quinoa breakfast cereal, yum! The evening hors d'oeuvres as so delicious too!

Club level at AKL is wonderful! the food was really good and varied when we stayed there last. Early September is really hot everywhere, but your choice of AKL is excellent. Both pools (Jambo and Kidani) are available for anyone staying at either resort, and both are nice. You also have three of the best restaurants in WDW (Boma, Jiko and Sanaa) to choose from. There is a covered walkway to the sheltered bus stop which is great in the heat.
