AKL - How Far ahead to Book...

We are planning a trip to the AKL in April of 2009. Do any of you know how far in advance to book? I will be needing 3 rooms and my TA says I can book now. I was wanting to wait a month or so (to save a little more) and now she is kind of scaring me that I need to do it sooner rather than later.

Does it really book THAT fast? We just got back from a 7 day cruise and all of our vacation money is depleted!! We would just be in a better place in a month. They want $461 deposit!

Please advise!!

Are your dates around spring break if so that may complicate things. If you have a Disney visa I think there is some 0% financing available but I would think you could wait a month

Hi and congrats on planning another trip to WDW. Anyway, you CAN book now, but you definitely don't have too. The packages will come out sometime in the summer and will give you a better feel for what the "real" rates will be. It definitely will not hurt to wait another month or so. There are rooms available at AKL for April and May of 2008, I'm sure it will be there when you book for 2009. Just don't wait TOO long

Are you going during Easter week or anything like that?

Last year, I was able to book AKL in March (I think) for a May trip. Basically, I waited until AP rates were announced. I was then able to change the reservation 1 week before I left for 1 week later. Again that was in May so it will probably be a bit different in April. But I would think that waiting a month so that you are booking 11-12 months out should be ok.

I just booked for April 2009-Easter/Spring Break Week. The cast member I talked with said it was good to plan early for that week and that AKL was very popular. They will charge you the highest 2008 rate for the type room you are wanting. Then, they will go back and adjust it later for the actual rate. You only have to put down one nights room deposit.
