Thinking of staying @ AKL for first time during 2008 Holidays (Dec. 26 - Jan. 2). For those that stayed there during the past holidays, how was it? What was great about your stay? What was not so great about your stay?

Thanks in advance for any information, tips, suggestions ;)

We stayed at the AKL Jan. 1 thru 6 of 2007, and thought it was the perfect place to be. It's massively and amazingly themed, and has the best restaurants (breakfast at Boma is a must). Waking up in the morning to see giraffes and zebras grazing close by is just incredible. And when the weather at that time of year doesn't cooperate, it's so nice to be able to sit around the indoor firepit, taking in all the ambiance, as well as the wonderful exotic aromas. The kids especially love AKL, with all the activities designed to keep them busy when not at the parks. The first night we were there, Mickey and Minnie were holding a meet-&-greet in front of the Christmas tree ... truly magical! There was absolutely nothing we disliked about this resort; it's now our favorite!

We didn't stay there but went to Boma for breakfast I think Dec. 16 or so. I absolutely fell in love. The pictures do not do it justice. It is magnificent. I fell in love with the lodge and actually loved the Animal Kingdom which was unexpected.

Liked it so much in fact that we changed our plans for our land/cruise to 2009 from Beach club to the AKL.

Loved the Boma breakfast also by the way. Definitely try the French toast:)

Have a great trip
