AKL Deluxe Room with bunkbeds?

Hello
Doing some early planning for our trip next February 2005. We are thinking about taking my Dad and are looking at all options for accomodations that sleep 5. We have stayed at AKL twice and we love it.

Now my question is are there any Deluxe pool view rooms that have bunkbeds? We would definitely need bunkbeds if we were to stay here.

Yes, for both questions!

Savannah and poolview both have rooms that accomodate 5.
Layout is 2 queens and daybed or 1 queen, 1 set bunk beds and daybed for 5, but these must be booked as DELUXE rooms.

The other rooms, are a tad smaller, on lower floors, and have the same bedding options as the WL, ie, 2 queens OR 1 queen w/bunks, OR King. Some kings have daybed optional , too, in deluxe rooms.

I've stayed in alot of AKL rooms, not ALL of them....YET!

Like to try a suite sometimes this next year!

We've requested the 6th floor...Queen, bunks and daybed overlooking the pool for this next trip!

What I was trying to avoid was the Deluxe Savanna Room type that I had last time - it was room #5383 - King Bed and a couch that turned into a bed

It was great for me as a solo adult but would not so well for the family

So it appears there is also a Deluxe that has a King Bed and a couch

Do you think we should amend our requests to include the two bunk beds configuration?

Oh, yes, jaysue! Put in your requests for those BUNKS!

The King rooms are wonderful for 2 adults, maybe 3,
but NOT for a larger family!

Actually all deluze rooms that can accomdate 5 have bunkbeds, one queen bed and the day bed. They don't have any queen/queen combinations in the deluxe rooms that accomdate 5. The deluxe rooms that have queen/queen only accomdate 4 as they don't have daybeds.

You may be right on that one!
We haven't stayed in 2 queens with daybed, but the concierge CM asked me which one I wanted when I told her we were bringing DS's 2 buddies!

I even questioned her on that..."you mean, I can get 2 queens and a daybed?" She replied yes and that the other figuration for a deluxe room for 5 was 1 queen, bunks and daybed.

Oh, well, go figure!
I just told her we wanted the bunks, because that would be better for these pre-teen boys! LOL!

See, I was told something completely different by concierge. We were a party of 4 and wanted a room with bunks. The concierge CM told me that the only rooms that held 5 people were those rooms with bunks. They legally had to hold them for parties of 5 and could only assign a party of 4, if a party of 5 didn't need that room. We were told that if we couldn't get the bunks, we'd be assigned in a room with two queens and no day bed.

Do any of the standard view rooms offer the queen with bunk bed option? Our Travel agent said only deluxe have bunks....but when I spoke with a CM at AKL, he said there are just a few standard view that have the bunks. Anyone know? Thanks a bunch!

I had room 3030, pool view standard, one queen and bunks. Whether there are standard view rooms with thisset up, I can't tell you, but I would imagine there are. Your TA is incorrect about the bunks.
