AKL check-in

Okay, I'm a little confused and I hope you guys can help. We will be arriving from the airport to Animal Kingdom Lodge at 12:30 p.m. According to our reservation, our check-in time is 3:00 p.m. Can we check in (register) early and then go off to the parks? Or do we have to wait around until three to check-in? Does the check-in time only mean that our room will not be available until after three and that we cannot go to our room until then? Does the check-in proceedure take long? I figure that if we have to wait until three then there would probably be a really long line!

Hi,

You can "check-in" when you arrive and if your room is not ready yet you can store your bags with the bellmen and just hop the resort bus to the park of your choice. There also might be a chance that your room will be ready and in that case you can just do a quick settle in and then head off to the parks.

We are going to be arriving at the AKL about 1pm on Jan 22nd and plan to do as I described above.

You should be able to check in earlier than 3, although your room may not be ready -- AKL has a huge storage area for luggage and they'll be able to keep your luggage there until your room is ready, if need be.

We arrived at AKL two weeks ago (the Sunday after Thanksgiving, 11/28) at 2:00 p.m. and our room was ready -- and no line at all for check-in! An hour later, there were 20 people waiting in the check-in queue.
