Hi. We had a great stay at AKL and BC and I thought I would share my thoughts on our room locations and perhaps help anyone going in the future.
We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (one night) and Beach Club (three nights) from April 17 to 21. I sent a request to each of the resorts 4 days before we left on vacation. I got everything I asked for in my requests!
AKL: I requested bunk beds, second floor, Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail.
I was very pleased to get a second floor room with bunkbeds. At first I was a bit disappointed with the view we had; we were about 5 rooms away from the Arusha viewing area. But when we spent hours on our balcony from 3pm on I was delighted with the location; we saw lots of animals until about 6pm (when they all wandered off). But also important was the fact that our balcony was in the shade! It was over 90 degrees in the sun and I don't think I would have spent the hours on the balcony that I did if it wasn't shady and comfortable. The rooms on the end of the Zebra trail are in full sunlight in the afternoon. I imagine in the summer it would be unbearably hot to be on one of those balconys in the summer.
BC: I requested a room close to Epcot and a day bed - I did not request a floor - balcony didn't matter to us here.
Our room was on the first floor (very convenient), had a daybed and was about the 4th closest room to Epcot. The location and floor proved to be a big plus for us. We walked out of our room and were in Epcot within 5-6 minutes. Very handy when DH and I did 'Beers around the World'!
