AKL AP rates for December

Have tried to book 2 nights in the middle of December at AKL using the Code AMI (AP discount). Eventually found some availibility but was quoted $222 per night for a standard savannah room, I was expecting it to be a bit less ($170 ish inc tax). Has anybody else managed to get a good rate on this ?. I was also quoted only $233 for a deluxe savannah room.

The operator said that on the first screen the price for the standard room came up at $167 then when it went though to the next screen (where tax is added) the price shot up to $222. That's a lot of tax, do disney have problems with there systems sometimes ?. How can I check that the rate given is correct ?.

Yes, that does seem high considering we were able to get an AP rate for Christmas (Holiday Peak time) for $277/night - tax included. And this is a deluxe Savannah room (sleeps 5)concierge.

I would call back and see if you can do better with another CM.

This was my third attempt tonight.

1st attempt only found Deluxe Savannah rooms @ $233
2nd attempt couldn't find anything at all (tried 5 different dates)
3rd attempt found both standard and deluxe but there seemed to be something odd with the pricing of the standard savannah room only $10 cheaper than deluxe.

Anyway it's held for 24 hours, I'll ring back tomorrow and hope it's just a computer glitch or something.

Sorry, just noticed did you say you have Conciere for $277 per night. Think I might have to inquire about that tomorrow if we can't get the standard for a decent price.

That does seem pretty high... do you have more than two adults? Maybe that's what's pushing the price up...

I have a FL resident rate booked for Saturday, AKL waterview, at $166. When we got our APs, I tried to get an upgrade since the AP site said savannah view for $149. No luck. She said there were no rooms available.

we got a savannah room decemmber 15-18th for 164.00 with the code AMI. we booked about 1 month ago

I have Christmas week savannah view at $166 a night. that's with tax.

Thanks everyone, I'll try again tonight. Guess they probably haven't any Code AMI standard rooms left (but thats not what they were saying as on one of there screens it was showing a price of $166 per night only when we tried to reserve it it came out as $222 per night).

How strange. I checked availability for AKL and no standard views were left. We were quoted $166 for waterview - that includes tax.

We opted to pay a little more ($189 inc tax) for Poly.

Can you play with the dates any at all? Sometimes they are sold out for arrival on one date--just use for example the 15th but move your arrival up a day to the 14th or even the $13 and they may have the AMI discount for your dates. I was quoted $166 savannh view for Dec 3 & 4 but its less crowded then than the middle to end of Dec.

Savannah view for $149 a night....but I don't arrive until the 26th of Dec.I thought it was a great rate!

I was quoted $177. with AP rate on Dec 26 and 27th. I upgraded it to con. for 244. with AP rate. I finally got the rate on my third try.

Fingers crossed, we may have got our rate. A very helpful CM has been looking into why the rate jumped from $167 to $222 per night, and has found that their system wont take the childrens ages and is trying to charge them as 3rd & 4th adults thus adding $50 + tax to the price. The booking isn't confirmed yet as they can't put it through the system at $167 but it's looking more hopeful now. I have to ring back tomorrow and see what's happening. (only took 35minutes on the phone today!!!!).

Got it, 2 nights AKL 11 & 12 Dec in a standard savannah room for $332 inc tax.
