??AKL 6th floor room advice??

We are going to AKL first week of Sept. I really want to be on the 6th floor close to the lounge. (2 small DDs and grandma) What is the best room to request? Can you see any savannah with a pool view? We stayed about 4 doors down from the lounge last February. We loved being close to the lounge but really did not see any animals. Not becouse of the roof but the road and people pen. Are the smoking optional rooms smelly? Please let me know what room # you have stayed in. Thanks for any advice.

You cannot see animals from the pool view rooms...

As you have stayed on the 6th floor ~ you are familiar with the Savanna view from there.

Maybe a room a few more doors down from last time will clear you of the people pen obstruction - but that is pretty well it ~ I would expect the same as last time.

The savanna view rooms on the 5th floor are glorious, but I agree they are a bit of a walk to the elevators and up to the lounge.

I think the 5th floor rooms are better, even though you need to take the elevator to the lounge. You can't get Arusha Savannah on the 6th floor. You only get Sunset Savannah or pool view.
