We stayed on the 4th floor at the end of Kudu Trail and we had fine views of the animals. As you get closer to the lobby, the animals are actually on the same level as the 2nd floor rooms (the lobby is on the 3rd floor). In other words, the building gets taller as you go away from the lobby. We had the worst view from our room (according to the front desk manager) but we thought it was nice. There's really not a bad view and definitely not a need for binoculars. If you have a Savannah view room, the animals will be allowed within maybe 10 feet of the building. There is a path between the savannah and the hotel which keeps the animals from walking right up to the building. Hope that helps!
