ok so i got a 8:30 ressie at akershus its just me and my fiancee are we going to like it being adults and how is the food i love the princesses belle is my favorite but i am going to crt twice on my trip should i keep this ressie. so what do you think thank you

Short answer I don't know...

In Akershus Belle is the greeting princess (she wears her yellow dress) so you don't get to spend "a lot" of time with her. However you do get a beautiful picture of you and her together as part of the meal.

At CRT as I recall Belle is there in her blue dress circulating around the tables. So you might have more interaction time with her there.

We always enjoy the Akershus meal (our favorite is breakfast).

Hope that helps!

I have a different question but didn't wanna start a new thread......this will be my first time at Akershus too.

Wanted to know which desserts come out with dinner? I see one thing on the Askershus description on the Disney site, and different desserts on their PDF menu. The desserts on the description sound wayyyyy better the menu ones. Especially if someone has eaten here recently?

Please and thanks!

I loved this restaurant DF said it was the best we went to! I went to CRT as well and liked this one better. Before the meal there is a cold buffet with cheese and meats and breads, the main meal was really good and they gave us a dessert platter that had a type of bread with cream(so good) a chocolat cake and rice pudding. The waitress was so nice we took our picture with her and loved the princesses.

I have picture but I dont know how to post them:headache:

Hope this helps

We were at Akershus last July, and I'd forgotten about it until just this minute so I'll pass it along.

We had ADRs for about 7:00, I think. We seemed to wait a long time for our turn to be seated (which wasn't a huge issue), but the food was really good and the character interaction was awesome! This is the part I just remembered and wanted to pass along to you:

When we got there, the restaurant was SWARMED with little girls. My kids got their pics with Belle and we had our meal and character interaction, etc. When we were done with our meal, the line to enter had entirely cleared out so Belle had some extra time. My dd was 13 and her favorite character is Belle. Because there was nobody in line, they let her go over and have an extended conversation with Belle and take more pictures, etc.

It was actually really cool. My point is that you might have a similar experience if you book a later ADR. It seems like the little kids need to eat by 6:30 or 7:00, but not so much after that.

As a side note, I'd drop one of the CRT ressies and go for the Akershus for the other. :)

I'd keep Akershus, we really enjoyed breakfast. And if Belle is your favorite, the picture with her in her yellow dress is great. However in May, Belle didn't show up, and Aurora was greeting, but that was a fluke, I think since they didn't have another princess replacing her. It worked out since we already had the picture with Belle from Sept. The breakfast is really yummy, especially the potatoes and the princesses were great! At CRT, Belle is in her blue dress which isn't quite the same, love the yellow dress!

As for desserts, we went for lunch in Sept and we had rice cream, apple cobbler thing and chocolate mousse. Everything was awesome and I almost booked lunch again for the desserts!

We, my fiance and I, no kids, love it, it is our new breakfeast must do. We went in Jan 2010, they have an endless "hot plate" hash browns meats and eggs, fruit and pastry buffet and endless juice. We are going this Jan and taking family members too.

Yeah, Keep the Reserv. you will really enjoy the food and the character interaction. esp. if you like belle. It really is a good opportunity to get some one on one time. enjoy it.

We went a couple weeks ago and felt the food at Akershus was significantly better than CRT (where we ate two nights before), the princess interactions were equivalent (and four of the five were the same at both; Jasmine was the 5th at CRT and Belle the 5th at Akershus, with Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White and Ariel at both), and the service about the same (perhaps marginally better at CRT). Akershus is much less expensive, and also comes with a nice picture package similar to that of CRT.

I actually recommend keeping both ADRs; we don't regret doing so in our family. The experience of eating in "the" castle is too magical to not do at least once, but Akershus is also very magical, just different.

As far as the desserts, we received the rice pudding (quite tasty), a chocolate mousse cake (DD5 packed most of that away, but the small taste I snagged was delicious) and a pastry of some sort (almost like phyllo or a croissant) filled with a sweet cheese of some sort that I loved but was incredibly difficult to eat. All three were tasty, although I didn't care for the berry puree on top of all three (personal preference, nothing wrong with the topping for those who like berries).

While I had my children along, there were many other couples and childless groups there (and we were there at about 6:30), so you'll fit in just fine. Have fun!

OK, upon rereading your original post I just realized that you have two CRT reservations.

It's your call entirely, and if one if breakfast and the other lunch or dinner, that may make sense, but two CRT meals seems like a lot. The experience is wonderful, but the food is pretty average, so you may want to keep one, keep the Akershus, and then turn the second CRT ADR into a nice romantic dinner at another signature restaurant.

But it's your trip and obviously entirely your call. Just my input...

It is traditional for us to get into the park early (get an ADR for around 8am) and eat at Akershus on our first full park day. My whole family loves it. The only princess that is not subject to change for breakfast is Belle, all others are, which is nice because it is like a surprise to see who is there. The food and ambiance is also another reason why we love to go here. Even though we have a DD9 and DD6, I truly believe that if we went without them sometime, DH and I would still eat here just because the Cheesy Potatoes are so YUMMY!!!!! Have a great time.

Thats what I would do. On our last trip with no kids-(2001)- we did the Akershus and the Castle "lunch"
Akershus was so much better. (and a lot cheaper too) but we did the akershus before the Belle photo

We have the Akershus booked for our trip in sept.

I say keep Akershus. My husband and I loved this place! We did have our kids with us but we enjoyed it on its own merit. The character interaction is great and the cold bar is yummy (shrimp!!!!). I liked the food and the family style dessert so you could try each of them. It also is nicely decorated and themed. And you get a photo of your party with a princess included in the price - GREAT!

I have done both and while being at the Castle is cool, we would pick Akershus every time from now on. We may bring my 2nd daughter who has never been to the castle once when she is older, but only b/c it is the castle. The food at Akershus was surprisingly delicious! We had lunch there and each ordered different items and each ate our entire meal. It was actually the best ADR we had as far as the food. The desserts were so yummy I can't wait to eat them again! The food at CRT was ok. The princess interaction was fabulous and the same as CRT. The building is pretty and service was good.

Sorry for piggy backing but just have a question: I'm going for lunch and would like to know if anybody has any ideas on what to order for lunch.
