Which restaurant do you prefer for princess character dining... and why?? Breakfast, that is.

We'll be doing one princess breakfast as well as the character breakfast at Tusker House in AK.

Cinderella's Royal Table is excellent. All of the "major" princesses are there....and the food is absolutely amazing!! We eat there everytime we come.

I say Akershause all the way. The food is excellent, and the interaction with the princesses is A LOT better. Everytime we've been there, Belle posed for a complementary pic out front, and 4 princesses have made the rounds.
(and it's cheaper, too!)

I have mixed feelings about this. I have found the princesses are ALWAYS more interactive at Akershus. But if you have a little one who has never been in the castle then the castle all the way. There is something more special about seeing Cinderella in her castle! But when I took my 2 year old I went to Akershus. When I take her back around age 4 or 5 I will do the castle. I have memories of meeting Cinderella in her castle and being SOOO excited to meet her. And we know its ALL about the memories

We have done the Princess Norway breakfast twice and both times it was for 8:35 and both times it was amazing! My nieces were 3 and 9 the first time and 6 and 12 the next time and they had the most fun with all the Princesses and they treated my nieces like they were the only girls in the entire place. The food was very good, we all enjoyed it very much...FYI you can special order pancakes but not french toast or waffles....my little niece was very happy with that and she devoured the ligonberry muffins

We have found the early time the best because you get to see alot of the characters...if you walk in the place and take a hard left there is a wooden door on the wall...that is where the characters come out of. We were lucky enough to sit by it both times

We did the Akershus breakfast our first day there last week, and it was wonderful! There were 5 princesses, you get a complimentary photo package with Belle, the food and service were good, and the princesses really took time with the kids. It was well worth the money!

My first vote goes for Akershus but, for you, let me qualify...

If you're on the DDP, then Akershus for sure. Why? Because you'll get better value for your TS credits. I just don't think that any breakfast ought to cost 2TS because - at the least - the cost of the meal is less for breakfast.

If you're not on the DDP and are paying OOP, I'd still probably go for Akershus because it'll still be less expensive for the same value.

I guess the only reason I'd opt for CRT instead is if you just *had to do* the castle. Otherwise, the only thing you're really paying for (at breakfast) AT the castle IS the castle. The princess interaction is virtually identical and may even be better at Akershus.

This is what I've been debating. CRT is definitely the more magical experience (or so I hear!) but DD is only 2. Is it worth the extra cost (well, extra TS credit) and all the hooplah for something that she won't remember? Not that her "memories" are the motivating factor for me, but I know she'll love it no matter where we are... just as long as she can meet the princesses. She's too young to really know the difference.

So my initial thought was to do Akershus and save the extra TS credit for another meal. And do CRT on our next trip when she's older. Unless, of course, I got awful reviews for the Akershus breakfast from you guys. ;)

CRT is an amazing experience. While the food at both places is mediocre, there is something super magical about dining in the castle.

You are right, she will not remember. ;) You will and that is all that really matters. :goodvibes If you are able to do it, you should. Treasure that moment with her.

She's 2. She won't remember and, honestly, the major "experience" is the princesses...which Akershus does really well. I'd skip CRT *this time* and go to Akershus. In a couple of years when you return, *then* I'd go to CRT.

Your memories are certainly just as important, but I *really* think you'll love Akershus.

Oh man, I'm already fearing the gigantic sobbing sap that I'll become once we get to Disney. I've NEVER been the sentimental, emotional type but bam! I have a kid and now I cry at the drop of a hat.

We took her to see Disney on Ice (princesses, of course) a couple months ago and I was bawling like a baby when the princesses all skated out and DD's face lit up.

Well crap, I'm bawling again now just thinking about it. I'll have to remember to bring some make-up into the park with me so I can keep re-applying everything that melts off with the tears. :o

I agree, I would skip CRT for this time as she won't reember anything then the princesses. I would pick Akershus.

I second this. Akershus breakfast is a must do each trip, in fact it is a tradition to eat there on our first full day. We love the food, both the cold bar and the hot food that comes to the table...especially the cheesy potato casserole :goodvibes. CRT is nice if you have never been eaten inside the castle, but between the two (especially for breakfast) I would definitely choose Akershus.

This is our exact plan/tradition. The first full day at WDW starts at Akershus. Every time I go there, I am once again reminded how much better and cheaper it is than CRT. All CRT has, for me, is location, location, location.

Having two DDs, though, CRT has come up on previous trips just for the experience. We are skipping it on our next trip down, though.

I'm the same way!!! If anyone has any tips on how to control it, I'd love to hear them! I've never been a crier but now I cry when I see the Disney commercials and I cry when we sing Princess songs together in the car!! I'm a MESS!!!!

I am going back and forth on the breakfasts. I've done CRT and I think it's a magical experience. DD was only 10 months old then but my nieces, then 6 and 11, just ADORED it! So worth the extra TS! But DD will only be 3 when we go this year in October and I'm thinking it's the princesses more than the location that she cares about, so we may save the extra TS for something else. Still not sure.:confused3
