Akershus/busy day Epcot dilemma...

Here's the background...my family loves the Princess interaction and food at Akershus (dinner)!

Here's the dilemma...

I have a dinner reservation for Akershus for this Friday, 2/25. But, it appears that the various "prediction" sites are saying that this Friday at Epcot is supposed to be very busy (it has evening EMH's and plus there is a marathon on Sat).

The "prediction" sites are also saying that Mon (2/28) and Thr (3/3) of the following week are supposed to be good days to visit Epcot. But, I can't get an ADR to Akershus for either of those days.

What should I do? A or B?

A. Do I go to Epcot on Fri and a guaranteed dinner at Akershus, but deal with a crowded Epcot?

or

B. Do I go to Epcot on Mon and/or Thr of the following week and try to get into Akershus (with the possibility of not getting in at all...but having a backup restaurant), but dealing with a much less crowded Epcot?

I'm leaning towards B, but just wanted to hear if anyone had any other suggestions/advice.

I would keep the ADR for now - have you tried getting another ADR for the other days? If you have but there's no availability, I wouldnt risk a walk up, if Akerhaus is important to you. Instead I personally would spend the day at Epcot on the Friday and then after dinner (especially if your ADR is quite early) I would shoot off to DHS via International Gateway as DHS hasn't got F! that night as should be relatively quiet.

I can't remember - do you need to reserve the ADR with your credit card at Akerhaus - if not I would book more than one ADR ie the Friday one - plus one for the following week, if you can to keep your options open - you can always cancel later.

I think I am going to go with trying my luck for Akershus on that Mon or Thr, by trying to get an ADR and/or doing a walk-up. I do have back up plans in place (Cape May and Biergarten for both of those days) just in case. If we can't get into Akershus, at least it will force us into trying out a new restaurant!

Do you have park hoppers? If you do, I'd keep the ADR and just hop on the monorail to MK after dinner, or leave from MK via monorail to Epcot before dinner...or as the other poster said - utilize the boat to DHS. Annd that's only if you leave dinner and find Epcot to be ridiculously crowded. If you can get the ADR for a diiferent day, then take it, but otherwise I'd keep it and plan to hop.

I forgot to mention...no Hopper!

But, I just snagged a Mon Akershus lunch ADR, so I think I am going to go with my plan B and stay away from Epcot on this coming Friday.

I'll keep trying for a dinner ADR, but lunch at Akershus and NO busy Epcot day will work for me!
