AK Touring Plan Suggestions for Mixed Group in Aug

Hello,

I'm getting mixed up between Touring Plans, WDW Prep School, etc in trying to plan a mid-Aug, EMH visit with 11 people (ages 4-72, about 4-5 of whom won't do intense motion or thrill rides). Half of us are Disneyland Sig + AP's but not used to the heat, so a midday break will likely be needed. Most of the plans seem to include a lot of back and forth across the park, which I'd like to minimize.

EMH: 8 am on a Sat
ADR: Tusker House Lunch with ROL Viewing, 11:45 am
FP+: On-site, 60 days

Top Priorities for Our Group:
FOP (6-7 of us)
Everest (3-4 of us)
Kilimanjaro
Navi - probably EMH standby?
Festival of Lion King - do we really need FP+ for this?
Nemo
Dinosaur

+/- Kali
+/- Flights of Wonder

I'm thinking Pandora EMH if we can get FP's, but this is my first time dealing with FP+. If there are not FOP FP's avail until the afternoon or evening, I don't want to freeze at 4 am PT when trying to book these.

Suggestions, please, on how I might arrange this day? (And thank you!)

We've done Pandora during morning EMH and looking back, I'll avoid it in the future. It's where everyone wants to go at park open and becomes very busy and congested in a short span of time. I found that mid to late afternoon worked well crowd wise, as did visiting in the evening [as a bonus, Pandora is more incredible once the sun sets]. However, if you are able to book FP+ for FOP, take whatever time the system gives you. It's the attraction of the moment and sells out fast.

FP+ for FotLK is not needed, in my opinion. We've never had an issue using the standby queue, and we've never sat in a bad seat. I would break the day down into sections. When in Africa, do KS and FotLK. Asia, do EE, then continue up the path to Nemo, followed by Dinosaur.

Most of the plans seem to include a lot of back and forth across the park, which I'd like to minimize.

On the TP website, I think you can minimize walking by setting the walking speed a little slower. That eliminates some back-and-forth around the park, because the walking takes more time.

If less walking is needed beyond that, there's another setting called "walking vs waiting". Set it to prefer waiting in line over walking.

Does everyone really want to ride Navi River Journey, or would the FOP riders be okay to miss it? I would get FOP FP+ for whenever you can get it for those who want to ride it, and try to get Navi FP+ for the rest of the group around the same time; then you can all visit Pandora together and avoid it during EMH/rope drop when it will be very crowded.

It's kind of hard to plan a specific order for things when you don't know for what time you'll get Pandora FPs. (I'm struggling with the same thing for my August trip.) I would try to book your FPs from 9-10, 10-11, 11-12. Then you can book a 4th for when you return in the evening. The only problem is the shows, since the first show for both isn't until 11am. You could see the first show of FOTLK before your lunch, then see Nemo either before you leave for break or when you return in the evening. Just check when the last show is, I think it's usually at 5 or 6pm.

I think I might try to do safari (everyone) and EE during the first hour (those of us who will ride it have no problem dashing around), then Pandora (half and half, because no, we don't all need to ride it), FOTLK, Lunch. And everything else after that. That will be plan A, but honestly, I'm just hoping that we can get FOP. Fingers crossed.
