Are any of the AK or AK Lodge Table service restaurants especially good? I have 3 sons. The oldest are excellent eaters, but none of us prefer really spicy, hot, or food with curry. Our youngest loves good bread.

Thanks!

You will find more "ethnic" flavors at the AKL restaurants. As for the TS at the park, we haven't eaten a TS there....nothing really was to our tastes.

Boma (AKL) being the only one I have been too, we won't be going back. We are not picky eaters. While I am not adventerous (not picky either), DH is and even he didn't like it.

This buffet is full of a variety of dishes, all of whom carry some sort of african spice....which is mostly sweet in nature.
Spices like cinnamon, vanilla, curry and fruit flavors are in all dishes except the kids station.
We found that even the meat was rubbed with cinnamon, soups were sweet, we just couldn't find anything that didn't taste like a dessert.

Many people love Boma but if you are not into spices of any kind (sweet) it is not the place for you. Unless you want to eat off the kids station. And I am not going to pay that price so I can eat chicken nuggets and mac/cheese. LOL

Again many people love it and all the dishes we tasted (and we did them all trying to find something we liked) weren't bad, they just weren't our tastes.

Have a good trip!!

We really enjoyed Jiko (AKL) the last time we were there. I loved everything that I ordered from appetizer to entree to dessert. We are not adventurous eaters by any means, but we prefer more interesting food. My children (11 and 6) do not eat burgers, hotdogs etc and so it was not to difficult to find something for them. None of the items we ordered were spicy or had curry (I don't like curry either) or at least I didn't notice it.

We had excellent service and we will definitely be going back. It is a signature restaurant, but I find it far better in food quality than Narcossees. I was a little hesitant at first, but I'm so glad we tried it.:thumbsup2

As for the other restaurants, we have eaten at Boma at AKL and Yak and Yeti, Tusker House, and Rainforest at AK and found it fine (except Tusker House - we did not like the food at all), but Jiko is definitely one of the best restaurants we've dined in.

I really like Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom. Its chinese food. Jiko is good too in the hotel. Its not spicy at least what we had.

The only TS we've tried (so far) at AK or AKL is Tusker House and we really enjoyed it. It's a buffet and so there are plenty of options for everyone.

Our favorite dinner is the Yak and Yeti. It's definitely very similar to Chinese. The food and service is usually excellent, but we have experienced it on an off day. We don't like Tusker House for dinner because as previously mentioned, we just don't like the flavors. But... the character breakfast at the Tusker House is one of the best, and tied with the Cape May... IMHO! We love the breakfast buffet at BOMA too! It just might be the best at Disney. For breakfast they have tons and tons of traditional fare along with the exotic. For dinner, we aren't crazy about it for the flavors again. If you have a more adventurous palate, you would probably love it!

Jiko is one of the best restaurants on property and I'm not at all very adventurous and can't tolerate spicy. They have a good enough variety to please even me.
