Is Tusker House the only table service in Animal Kingdom and is it good for lunch?? Thanks
We are going to be in AK for a half day and don't want to do counter service in the Aug heat or transfer to eat.

I have been to Yak and Yeti twice and I just LOVE it. We are going again on the next trip. I wasn't really looking forward to it on the first trip, but boy was I wrong! One of my favorites.

There are 3 table service restaurants at AK: Yak & Yeti, Tusker House, and Rainforest Cafe. We have eaten at all 3 and like each. That said, our prefered choice Tusker House. Tusker House is a hidden Disney gem -- nice selection of diverse food choices, great ambiance in a relaxing location, and good service. R

Also not this probably matters but, RC and Y&Y are not own by Disney.

CHEERS!

We loved Yak & Yeti so much that we ate there twice last December. We even gave up our Le Cellier reservation to eat there the 2nd time.

We have had the following at Y&Y:

Pork Pot Stickers - Awesome (if you have ever had the ones at Ohana they are very similar and just as yummy!)

Lettuce Cups - Awesome, huge portion, need to share or be a light meal

Wonton Soup - Average wonton soup

Crispy Mahi Mahi - Tied with San Angel's duck as my husband's favorite entree ever

Duck with Anandapur Glaze - My husband said it was okay, but nothing compared to San Angel's duck or to the Crispy Mahi Mahi

Baby Back Ribs - I'm not a rib fan, they are too messy, aren't worth the work and have too much gristle and fat. Not here. They are beyond awesome. I ordered these both times. Actually the first time I ordered them because my husband couldn't decide between the Crispy Mahi Mahi and this. We decided that I would order the ribs so he could try some. Since we were on the dining plan I knew I would have plenty of other stuff to fill me up. Boy was I glad we made this decision. The meat fell off the bone and was amazing. I don't like smokey meat or meat that is too sweat. It was perfect!

Fried Wontons - Save room for these. Don't ask for half an order because they told me they couldn't do that. I don't know why so that you don't waste food or over-stuff yourself - which is exactly what I was afraid of doing.

Sorbet (mango, lemon, raspberry) - My husband loved all three.

If you are interested in any of these I have pictures of all.

We have eaten at both Tusker House and Yak and Yeti, and really enjoyed both. It may just depend on your preferences in terms or food and the buffet/sit down difference. I will say that my super picky DD found lots of new things to try at Tusker, which I was very impressed by.

Really? How old is she? We may have to try to get our nephews to go there. That is impressive.

We had two FANTASTIC meals at Yak and Yeti TS. That is a must do on our next trip. We had some friends go recently and Yak and Yeti wasn't on their dining list. I told them to try it just once, so they did and loved it so much they went a second time on the same trip.

Yak and Yeti is our new favorite...

Rainforest Cafe was NOT on the DDP when we visited last ....has that changed?

I will def try Yak & Yeti based on your above reviews...on our next trip...

Yak and Yeti is one of our new fave restaurants, definitely worthwhile. Also, Disney is offering a picnic in the park at AK meal.
"Disney makes it very easy. All you have to do is place an order at the podium located in front of Guest Relations at the front of the park or at the podium outside Tusker House restaurant. You can place your order from 8:30 AM to 1 PM daily. Your pick up time is 2 hours from when you place the order.

If you are on the Disney Dining plan, Picnic in the Park qualifies as a quick service meal.

I thought the choices were great! They offer two price levels. Tier one is $24.99 for 3 people and tax. You can choose from a Turkey Focaccia, Chicken Wrap, Ham Grinder or Tuna Pita. This comes with 3 sandwiches, 1 side, 3 desserts and 3 bottles of water. Tier two is $29.99 for 3 people plus tax. You can choose from Rotisserie Chicken or Ham. This comes with two sides, 3 desserts, 3 bottles of water. UPDATE: starting May 10 they will offer vegetarian choices. Portobello Mushroom and Vegetable Wrap on Tier 1, Tandoori Spiced Tofu and Zucchini Squash, a side dish available with either tier." - (shamelessly taken from the wdwinfo site (can't post links yet))

It is a new offer, so I don't know how many reviews you might get for it.
