Ak plan with no fast Passes

We are going to AK in May on an early entry morning. We will move to MK in the afternoon/evening. I am going to plan fast passes for MK.

We only have one morning at AK so we would like to make the most of it. Here is my plan with order of rides. Please suggest any changes you would make.

Get there prior to opening.

1) Safari 2)Everest 3) Dinosaur 4)Primeval Whirl 5) Bug 6) Lion King This is the only thing we want to do.

That looks about right to me. If you have time (and any interest) our favorite show at AK (and maybe all of Disney) is Flights of Wonder. Very fun. I would simply say get there no later than 20 minutes prior to rope drop. Safari and Everest will be walk on that early in the morning.

Just be aware that Kilimanjaro Safaris is 22-minutes long and Expedition Everest is a bit of a walk away across the park. By the time you get to Everest, it won't necessarily be a walk on anymore. Just be prepared for a small to moderate wait there. Lion King after It's Tough to Be a Bug is a great idea, because Bug will exit you out towards Africa.

We do Safari, over to EE (3-5x), over to Dinosaur then do PW, Bugs Life and Lion King. Many do EE first but this works for us very well, have a great trip...

Looks good, but you may want to hit EE first. As said earlier, Safari is a long ride, so by time you get to EE, the line may be a bit longer.

I think the plan looks OK. If you are going on a Morning Extra Magic Hour then you should be able to do Safari and be in line for Everest well before the park opens for everyone. Unfortunately that won't leave any time to wander through the Pangani trail after the Safari. You will want to walk briskly to Everest.

We went in May 2 years ago and went to AK for morning EMH. Got there about 30 mins before park open and were one of the first ones in line. Went to Safari first and were on EE by 8:30, rode 2-3 times in a row with no wait, then walked over to the trails (we don't particularly like Dinosaur). Worst case scenario you can ride single rider line with probably no wait, but doubt that will be necessary.

We did the same thing in December...you will be fine doing safari first and following it up with Everest.

We did Safari, Everest, Primeval Whirl, Dinosaur, and met Mickey and Minnie and were on our way out of the park before 11am. We did lots of photo taking, a bit of shopping, and stuff too. The longest wait we had was at Dinosaur, 20 or 25 minutes. The Everest line moves pretty quickly. It may have been posted at 20 minutes, but it didn't take that long. It was basically walk on...the line took only as long as it takes to walk from the entrance to the loading area.

This was my exact question a few days ago--most people said the same thing, that Everest's line builds while you're on Safari, but you'll be fine either way.

I agree. I also agree that I would not want to miss FOW. It is worth the time.

Another big Thumbs Up for Flights of Wonder, it's a must do for me every trip.

Josh over at Easy WDW suggests waiting until the last 10 minutes of Early Entry to ride the Safari. This way you can take advantage of short lines on shorter rides elsewhere, while the early entry people rush to the Safari. At 10 min until 9 most of those folks will have moved on, but the day guests aren't in yet, and you can enjoy the safari with a minimal wait knowing many of your must do's are already in the bag. I highly recommend his AK without FP walk through (with photos). It really does work out well to wait a bit on the safari.

We always head straight to EE first - can usually get about 3 rides in before the park opens. Then we head over to the Safari just before the park opens so we beat all of that regular entry crowd. Then we kill time with a show or Dinosaur until it starts to warm up & if the line is manageable & it's hot we'll do Kali to cool off. But we won't wait in a long line (ie over 30) for it.

I agree. I also agree that I would not want to miss FOW. It is worth the time.

Totally agree and would caution the OP that whenever you do Safari, you will have two choices on exit. Most will go through the gorilla trail and that will eat up more time or you can bypass it and exit quicker.

It's a shame you don't have more time because Animal Kingdom is one of the nicer places to relax and chill out with the paths since you see something different just about everytime.
