OK folks-whatdaya think about the AK parade? Normally, by that time, we're already done with AK and back at the hotel having our afternoon rest. However, we are going back to AK on another day latish, but primarily to ride Kali rapids a bunch of times.

By far my favorite parade! I love the music and the whole theme of the parade. I wouldn't miss it!

Erin :D

I also had never seen the parade it got rained out last time we were there. So on this trip I was making sure it wasn't missed.
LOVED IT..................The music, the color of the costumes were great.
I asked a CM where was the best place to see it and he told me to go just past the tree of life sign (where they take your pic in front of the tree of life) there is some shade and benches to sit down on.

Have fun and come back and let us know how you liked it.

Jammin' Jungle parade is my favorite parade. You are so close and the parade is very colorful. I love it!

It's my favorite parade!! :)
A tip for viewing: this parade starts and ends at the gate next to the entrance of Kilimanjaro Safaris. Make it a point to be there in Africa upon it's return...When it begins at 4pm, the crowds are lining the park waiting to see it....then they tend to FOLLOW it on their way out of the park....meanwhile, the parade circles the whole park, then returns back into Africa at about 4:20/4:25 and back through the gate it came from. The crowds are gone, you'll have plenty of viewing space, and more chances for the characters to interact with you.

Actually - we came off of Kali River Rapids, and walked just past the Tiger Trek, for an excellent spot to see the parade! There's even a rest room near by if you are waiting a long time!

I agree this is the best parade since the demise of TON at Epcot. It is very intimate, and accessible. It feels more like a festival or a celebration than the others.

Our favorite parade!! Because back during our Feb trip:

Got up late today, about 8:00am and headed to AK. We really wanted to catch Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade since we didn’t see it our first trip. Jack bought some pins for the kids…limited edition pins…what have these pin collectors done to us!! Bus to AK was quick this morning, Hooray!!

First things first. It looked cloudy so we packed our poncho’s and sweatshirts but put it in a locker at the entrance. Since we heard that they are canceling The Lion King show at AK we walked over to see the show. On the way we met up with a couple of higher ranking CM’s. I notice that they seem to hold onto their pins longer than most of the other CM’s. Both had walkie-talkies and some nice pins…I got another to go with my set, that makes 5 of 7. We talked for about 10 minutes about why we were there (to see the parade for the first time), when we were there last, where we were staying and why we liked the Poly more, why we were getting caught up in pin trading, blah, blah, blah. Then Manny, one of the CM’s asked us if we wanted to be in the parade…
...and we didn't say no!

We missed this parade in October. We went for EMH and were beat by the end of the day. The kids were hot, MIL's legs were tires so we skipped. Convinced DH (didn't have to twist his arm too hard) to go back the last week of January, now I need to convince him to watch this parade. He's not into the whole parade thing.

More like 4:30/4:45, actually.

I'm afraid you heard wrong, they aren't canceling this show.

This parade is GREAT! The music is wonderful, the costumes are fantastic, and it's a lot easier to see it up CLOSE! I remember leaving the parade thinking that it was the best time I've ever had at a parade in my entire life. I couldn't even count how many characters walked right up to me and shook my hand-- well, it was probably more like high 5's--it was terrific. and i noticed that there were lots of guests on the floats--seems like a better shot that being the grand marshal at MK!

Samirella, you are correct. When we heard this we were at AS Music and someone was spreading and evil rumor.
