My Dh and I are thinking of going in late jan/ early feb. We were wondering how anyone who has been to AK in those months liked it. Did you find the animals out and about? Thanks for any help. :goodvibes

YES YES YES!!! DH & I did the 7 day land and sea. Jan 29 - Feb 5th! We had 4 FABULOUS days FIRST at the AKL. We were on KUDO TRAIL on the 3rd floor. We had a savannah view balcony and YES we saw animals all the time.
The weather was WONDERFUL those 4 days we were there. We took so many pictures. It (to me) was breathe-taking, sitting out on the balcony looking at all the animals. Disney has a "cheat-sheet" right in each room, so that you can read up on each animal. It is very informative. This way you are not sitting there trying to figure out the different animals.

NOT TO MENTION, how absolutely spectacular the AKL is just walking around the entire resort from the pools, to the gift shop to all the restaurants. The LOBBY was just a place to sit and marvel.

After that wonderful stay it was off to the beautiful ship the WONDER!!!!

That's always when we visit. AK is our favorite park. My wife is a major animal lover!

OH SORRY WILLIS: I just re-read your THREAD and realized you were inquiring about the PARK....sorry, if I went on and on about the LODGE!!!

UGH!!!!!!!! :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

We were there in early February this year. AK is my favorite park and I got to the park right at opening. It was in the upper 40's one morning. I went immediately to the tigers. They were very playful. Since I was the only one there I asked a CM if they like the cold weather. He said they loved it. It was a nice change for them and they got frisky. Some animals, however, were not let out since it was so cold like any reptiles and some of the animals on KS were not out until mid-morning due to the temperature. The ones that were out, however, we very active.

Thanks. I was hoping that they would still be out playing.
Don't worry momrek06, I appreciate the info about the lodge. We went there last time to check out the animals. It was very nice. Thanks again everyone. Any other info about that time at AK would be appreciated. :goodvibes
