On August 5th, we have essentially free tickets to attend the hard ticket event that goes until midnight. However, we booked a very expensive day on 8/6 in Universal. My family are all early risers but we tend to go to bed around 9:30 most normal nights. We would have to be at universal by 7 the next morning to maximize our time. Am I being foolish doing this? There are 3 of us, my wife and I who are both 43 and my son who is 12.

Random thoughts - Not sure what to say, does your very expensive day at Universal include Express Pass? If yes, then you will be fine, even if you don't get there that early.

Not sure what your event is, but perhaps you don't have to stay until midnight? Looks like DAH, you can get in at 7, so maybe do a few of the rides before the event starts and leave earlier.

If you booked a deluxe hotel night for early entry I understand wanting to get there early, but the parks are open 9-9. If you do have a night, you could head there after your event and sleep at Universal.

If the reason is good enough, I'm all about losing a couple hours of sleep!

Yes, we did the deluxe hotel with the express pass. This is our first time there and we want to maximize the time
