AK at night on a day there is morning EMH

The night that we would like to go to AK is a Saturday when there is morning EMH. We would not get to the park until about 5:00. Do you think it is a bad night to go since it is an EMH day, or do you think the morning crowds would have left?

When are you going? It depends if the night time stuff has started yet. Once the night time stuff starts (I think Memorial Day weekend), I think the mornings are going to be dead at AK no matter what time they open. I think people are going to treat it as a half day park but go in the late afternoon/evening, so that they can do the night shows and beat the heat.

The day we want to go is Saturday, July 1st so it is open until 11:00pm. It is morning EMH that day so I don't know if that will make the park extra busy or less busy if people went at 8am.

No one knows for sure how the new nighttime stuff is going to affect daytime touring patterns. However, I think the opening time may not matter much anymore. Currently, usually AM EMH will increase the crowds at any park, but I think all of that goes out the window with the new nighttime stuff. My guess is that AM EMH will no longer affect crowds at AK. Late afternoon/evening will just be more crowded than now, despite park opening time. I don't think people will be staying all day. I think they will only show up later, so the opening time won't matter. I am just theorizing and basing this upon what I am reading on the boards. A lot of people seem to be planning evening only attendance at AK for the shows.

This is actually what we might do. Especially going in September, we'd rather go in the early evening to beat some of the heat and do FP's and then the nighttime shows. We would be able to sleep in a bit and enjoy the resort and pool during the day.
