Looking for opinions on whether to do Boma on the same day as Animal Kingdom early entry. We are staying at ASMU and are planning to be at the park by 7:45am. We have PS for Boma at 5:00 pm. We really want to see the parade which is at 4:00 pm that day. Will we be able to see the parade and still make our PS in time? We want to look around the Lodge a bit, as well as maybe catch the fireside storytelling with our DS's (6 and 10). Is this too much for one day?

I think it aounds nice! I love AK and Boma, and doing both in one day should be fine. I don't remember what time the storytelling is, but if you can fit it in it is fun. We've done it twice (same story both times!?!). But even if you don't hear the storytelling there is tons to see both inside and outside the lodge.

We have also eaten at Boma twice and REALLY enjoy it.

I wish I were at AK right now! Have fun!

Last time I was at AKL, storytelling was at 6:30 PM. Very entertaining, too.

The parade starts in Africa. See it from there and head back to the Lodge. I couldn't tell you whether it'd be easier to drive or take the bus, but it's a short bus ride.

Both times we have done AK and Boma on the same day.

Make sure you are in a good position to exit the park at the conclusion of the parade. We made 5:30 reservations with plenty of time to spare last year (plan on looking around after dinner).

We (DH,DD8, and myself) often take more than an hour to eat a Boma's (we love the food). So a 6pm story may be out of the question. Make sure you walk around.

We always take the bus. To return to your resort (since the AK will be closed) transfer at either a park or Downtown Disney. Don't make the mistake we made last year and end up at the MK as the fireworks are ending (Downtown Disney would have been a better transfer point).

Have fun

Thanks for the tips. especially on where to see the parade and how to get back to ASMU afterwards. I had been wondering about that one too.

All Stars resorts are not too far from the AKL. This would be a good time to use a rental car if you have one, or maybe even just take a taxi. It would save a lot of time over taking a bus to DTD, and then another back to the All Stars.
