I've been watching and waiting for AirTran to open for November out of ABE. When I checked today, I noticed they added an additional flight with what are for me, better times. Just wanted to give a heads up for anyone from PA who likes to travel from ABE. The new time for Sunday departure is 8AM with MCO arrival at 10:30AM and a Wednesday return 6:44PM MCO with arrival at ABE 9:10PM. This will give us a longer time to enjoy the magic of the World.
I can't speak for any other days, but you might want to check it out. We love ABE and are thrilled with the new flight schedule.

have you flown Air Tran b4? we are looking into using that airport only because of how close we are to ABE. Have never gone out from there before and have never been on Airtran (not liking the bag fee or the fee if I want to book my seats b4 the 24 hours) but I am still thinking about it...thanks for the help!

Yes, we have flown AirTran out of ABE several times. We have never had any complaints with them and although we probably aren't the most seasoned fliers, do prefer them to some other airlines we traveled on. Yes, there are fees, but they don't really bother me. I'm of the mindset that sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
The ABE airport is a favorite of ours. It is a relatively small airport, easy drive, reasonable parking, relatively clean in the terminal and staff have always been pleasant to deal with. That has been our experience, but I probably just jinxed our good fortune! We have flown out of several of the other small PA airports - AVP, Harrisburg, Reading - and find ABE more to our liking. The large airports are much more of a pain, IMO, and much farther distance wise for us.
I can only speak to our experiences. We like AirTran. We like ABE. We love Disney!

DH and I always fly out of ABE. We live about 20m from the airport. We may pay slightly more if we flew out of Phl but until you drive down there with the price of gas, find a hotel room that offers early morning shuttle service and pay to park it comes out to be almost the same price. We have never had any issues with Airtran or Allegiant. In fact in a few weeks we are flying down on AirTran but coming home on Allegiant. The downside is that Allegiant comes and goes into Sanford. Airtran has the better times to head South and Allegiant for returning to the North.

I just saw this too - they now fly 7 ays a week & 2 flights per day! Yahoo!!

We've flown AT many times from ABE with no issues. We only take carry-ons & don't pick seats so we skip the fees.

This is great info--thanks! I'm stalking prices for our Dec trip.

DD11 and I are flying out of ABE for the first time in July. We usually fly out of PHL but have had it with that airport. Plus ABE is about the same drive distance away.

Lizzygreen - go to the AirTran website and do the drop down boxes for the date selection. If you enter your dates and it says there are no flights, then they haven't been released yet (or at least that has been my experience). Now this is also assuming that you aren't looking to book this week and they are sold out! They just released the mid Nov dates last week. Hope this helps.
