? Airtran flight out of Allentown OR Wilkes Barre Scranton flight

Thanks much for the info! Perhaps I will get the guts up to just book these flights today....How far of a drive is Allentown from where you live?

It's about an hour drive for us, give or take traffic. PHL is also about an hour away too, south instead of north. But ABE is much smaller, so it's far less hectic.

Thank you! I just decided that WE will fly out of ABE (allentown) for the first time ever Although now I have a new set of questions .....

How long in advance did you drive down? If our flight leaves at 4:25pm I was thinking that I would have the car packed and pick kids up from school@ 2pm on the dot, so we would arrive around 3:25 or so...

Well, I have a bit of anxiety about getting to the airport on time. That being said, our flight was at 10:50 and we left our house at 8 just in case of traffic delays, etc. That's just how I am. However, we were there in plenty of time and sat around for about an hour before they even started boarding. If my flight was at 4:25, I would be parking the car by the latest 3:15. But again, that's me.

You and me both with anxiety and being on time ...Yep I actually would have to make sure we are on the road traveling by 2pm, as in actually being on 476 south at 2pm... How was parking your car and is it similar to AVP's parking?

I would consider pulling the kids a half hour early. There are so many what ifs, like you said-traffic, etc. The parking is easy, but a bit of a walk from the airport esp, with luggage. So a tram (van actually) is available. The tram stations have a call button to summon the van. So that is a little bit of extra waiting. It is a small airport & very easy to navigate so no trouble there, but I think I'd like to have a little extra leeway time, kwim? If it's not doable to pull the kids I'm sure you'll be fine-you may just have to hustle. Btw, ABE recommends 1 1/2 arrival prior to departure.

I really can't answer about the parking as we had a ride to the airport, but it didn't seem bad at all.
