I have have never flown Airtran , and was wondering if business class has more leg room than the exit row on a 737. I paid the $20 for an exit row. If available, an upgrade would be $99 minus the $20 and include 2 free checked bags. I am 6'2", so I could use the legroom.

There actually is pretty much leg room in the exit row. We either fly the exit row or upgrade to business, too. The business seats are wider and nicer. I don't know that they have much (if any) extra leg room over the exit rows though. Probably about the same.

I am 6'6", have only flown the upgrade business class, about 12 flights now I think. I did try out the exit row after a flight. I do think the exit row actually has a bit more legroom, but as Inkmahm said above, the business seats are wider, more comfortable. The net cost, especially if you havea bag or two, is almost nothing over the exit row. I always book the exit row, then upgrade at the 24 hour mark.

I think you will enjoy either.
