AirTran cancelled flight what are my rights?

Of course my direct flight down is gone and I assume cancelled. I looked at my reservation and they have me on a flight leaving 3 hours earlier and arriving 1/2 an hour later than the direct flight with a 2 hour layover in Atlanta. The flight they have me on is not even showing on their web site as a flight. My return is still the same. At this point what are my rights?
Thanks in advance for any help with this I've never had a flight cancelled before.

You can call and have yourself moved to another flight or they will refund you the price of your ticket. This happened to us last year on Airtran. We found out like you when our flight did not show up on the search anymore. I called and they had moved me from my 5:00PM flight home to the 11:00AM flight home. I wasn't ready to give up 6 hours of vacation time and there was not another non-stop to choose from, so they happily refunded my money and I rebooked on Jetblue. They were very nice about it and understood completely. It seems to be the pattern right now. I was scheduled for a 6:00PM flight home on Jetblue for October and now that flight was cancelled and I'm on a 1:30PM non-stop home. I decided to leave it alone this time. I could've switched to the 6:00PM flight on the night before, but was afraid that one would be cancelled too later and then the 1:30 would be full (we are a party of SIX). Just give AT a call when you see what your options are and whether you want to move to another flight or just cancel. I got a full refund, no fees involved since it was their action not mine. I got them to switch to another airport too.
DH will drive us to the airport, hence it is easier and no need to worry the return flight.

I have never heard anyone have a problem either getting their flights changed to one they want or getting a refund in this situation. Just call them. If you have problems, please report back so that people know what happened (and can hopefully offer some advice then).

Thank You all they were really nice and let me cancel the whole flight for a full refund and I then re-booked at $74 each way and saved $40 per person total savings of $160. However they are not non-stop as I had but that is OK what can you do at this stage all non-stops are running $400 plus per ticket.

Glad you worked out a solution that you are happy with! Good for you for staying on top of it--can you imagine waiting for them to notify you and then your options would be slim.
