AirTran - BAGS

We are flying AirTran in December and are not using DME. Anyone use BAGS from AirTran? Looks like it is available from most of the WDW resorts. Is there a fee?

At Disney-operated resorts at WDW, the BAGS service is called Resort Airline Check-in (RAC). It's free to WDW resort guests. It's not just for AirTran, but for several other airlines too.

Essentially RAC is a remote skycap service. In other words, it's just like curbside check-in at the airport, but it's inside or just outside your resort lobby. The RAC employees appreciate tips.

Although RAC is promoted as part of DME, it's actually a separate service. Disney allows you to use RAC (for free) even if you're not using DME.

If you use the BAGS service at non-Disney locations, there is normally a fee.

We just used RAC for airtran from POP. It worked out great! We had a rental car for the last day because we were doing a character breakfast at Ohana's. We checked our luggage in the morning, put our carry-on's in the car and headed to breakfast. When we went to the airport we returned the car and headed directly to security.

We tipped $5 for our 4 small bags.
