AirTran and AAA no seat fees...

Booked my package for disney thru AAA did not get any room discount for the room I am staying in(still hoping for a pin or discount to come out thou ) but found out that when you book a package they do not charge any booking fee for the airfare and also I did not have to pay the seat fees on airtran, got row 12 which I think would have cost us $12 or $15 per seat for free... at least AAA got me some discount...

I believe there are no seat fees on Airtran if you book via a travel agent, if I remember right. AAA would be considered a travel agent.

Don't mean to thread-jack, but is the rate through AAA the same as I'd get booking the same flights online?

Bill, I was ready to book through Airtran online, but if I can get free seat assignments I will use a travel agent. Have to do some research I guess!!

The rate was the same for me, I was just happy to finally get some kind of discount for having AAA... if you are just booking tickets there is a booking fee with AAA and other travel agents and sites also have booking fees so you have to be careful, I got no booking fee and free seats because my vacation package was over $2000 and per AAA that is when you get the no booking fee.

interesting....I was told by our AAA agent that if she booked seats at the time of reservation, we would have to pay a charge. I think I will be calling her in the morning.
