Our trip is suddenly here - we land in LAX Thursday the 11th at 9:00 AM and are staying at the Grand Californian. I never got around to figuring out our airport transportation (round trip). I figured it wouldn't be a problem to do last minute. I tried searching here and everything I found seemed to be from very old threads. I would rather book something than just do uber or a taxi - unless those are universally considered the best options. Anyone have some advice or a quick recommendation? It's so overwhelming to not have suggestions or somewhere to start. It will be two adults with two bigger suitcases and two smaller carry on sized roller bags, plus backpacks (I know, I don't pack light).

I have been using Midwilshuttle from and to LAX for the last number of years. They pick up curbside at LAX as they are a private car service. Go to their website and book and pay online.

Thank you, i just filled out their form for a quote. What do they generally charge? I don't even have an idea of what this will cost, which can be dangerous when getting quotes (at least in NYC the prices were vastly different between companies).

Im a solo and I usually only have 1 checked bag and 1 carry on bag and its usually around $100 per journey. When I land at LAX I sent them a WhatsApp text message when I am waiting for my bag to let the driver know I have landed. Then once I have my checked bag I go to the pick up area and send another message to the driver, with the exact place, I usually send a photo as well. They will tell you the drivers name and the car details.

As the driver has to get to the pick up area, with the LAX traffic, it usually about 10 minutes from when I send the text that I am at the pick up area.

Unless you hire and schedule a driver from a car service Uber really is then next best/fastest/economical option.

You can always opt for Uber Comfort or Black if you want a nicer ride which are typically car service drivers anyway. Uber Black/LUX can pickup curbside at LAX vs having to trek to the LAX-it rideshare pickup area where you would want an XL with that luggage.

We have used diamond driver guy twice in the past and they have been great. Also includes grocery stop if you want that.

So the pick up is near baggage claim - and not some distant pick up spot? They quoted me $120 each way, (plus tip), which seams reasonable to me and seems to fit with what you have paid.

Yes, the limo services are allowed to pick up in front of baggage claim.

Correct. Midwilshuttle can pick up curbside outside arrivals. I arrive at Tom Bradly International Terminal and the pick up area is the middle section outside arrivals.

Thats about right for 2 people plus luggage.
