We fly in to LAX and out of SNA. I think we will use Super Shuttle...is this the Dis.eyland Express? Any discounts or coupons available for this? Also, are reservations required? Any help appreciated!

Thanks for the clarification. I will use the Disneyland Resort Express. However, I'm still confused. Their website says no reservations are required, and yet you can purchase your fares and there is some wording that says 48 hours advance booking is required :confused3.

I assume that means that if you book online, you need to allow 48 hours to be sure it processes through & they have you marked down as prepaid.

But you absolutely do not need to prebook. I walked up to the bus last week & was fine. They collect payment after you arrive on Disneyland property.

Any suggestions for which company to use for transportation from John Wayne Airport to our Hotel in Disneyland?
We are traveling in a group of 8. 4 out of the 8 are kids under 4 years old so carseats are a must.
We are not bringing our own carseats. I hoping there is a company that will provide them.

Thank you for reading!

If carseats are a must, you better plan on bringing your own. I don't think there are any transportation companies that provide carseats.

I don't know about LAX...

We have used these for our travels in and out of SNA.....

Avis Rental Car (2004)
Budget Rental Car (2008)
Super Shuttle and they were fine, no problems (2010)

24-7 Ride (2012) They were fine, no problems. Their price was best when I checked around. We took 24-7 Ride from SNA to the GC.

Yellow Cab Co has a FLAT RATE for Disney. Call the hotel, bell service or guest service can tell you all the info about it. I think their rate from LAX to Disney is $85. Disney to SNA is $35. Nick P was our driver. He was a fine driver, again no problems. I took Nick's business card and when we're in town, needing a ride, I will call him to be our driver.

If you like to schedule everything, then I'd go with 24-7 ride or super Shuttle.

I prefer not to schedule. I like the instant availability of Yellow Cab. Their flat rate plan isn't much different than the shuttle services either.

As far as CAR SEATS.... When I checked back in 2010, I never found a transportation service that provided them.
They said they would not be able to provide transportation if the kids were not in approved car seats. We had to pack our own along for that trip. We just used a bungie cord to hook them to our carry on bags.

Good luck getting all the plans set for your Disney trip

I don't know of any specific companies that offer carseats, but have heard of people using some. You may have to dig to find who does.

You can also take a Limo, or the Disneyland Resort Express mentioned above.

Has anyone on this board ever rented a limo or a private car to take them from the airport to their hotel?

I've seen a few links to services of this type, with reasonable pricing, but later found out that the "reasonable" amount was an hourly rate, and that renting a car/limo requires a 3-4 hour minimum.

There were lots of shuttle companies that I saw that provided carseats...for a cost! (of course, right?!) We were going to do the Disneyland Resort Express, BUT we do need a car for one day as it is, and we found out that through United (I think it was) we could rent a car for the entire week for just a bit more than it would have cost for DLRX AND a car for one day. So maybe that is an option for you? That particular company was WAY cheaper than any others out there. They DO rent carseats through all rental car companies too (for a cost! lol), but if you really don't want to have to bring your seats from home, it may be a convenience worth paying for! :thumbsup2

OK, now I'm thinking about just using Yellow Cab...if the cost is fairly comparable to Disneyland Resort Express, it sounds as though it would be faster. Am I correct?

I learned about yellow cab "Flat Rates" right before our last trip.

Each time we used a cab, I showed them the slip from Bell Services or asked about flat rate and confirmed our trip would be FLAT RATE $XX to our destination. I didn't want any surprises when it was time to pay.

This is how we will get to and from the airport on future trips. It took about 20 minutes from GC to SNA on a Friday @ 4:45pm

A rental car is too expensive, since we tend to stay put at the resort once we get there. If we had day trips or other needs to leave the hotel area then a rental would be fine.

Yellow cab says it has a flat rate of $88 out of LAX to the HOJO. (as far as I can tell).

I like the thought of the taxi taking us directly to our hotel, no one else, no other stops. I know that's a lot more than a shuttle, but is that a decent price?

You can go to getawaytoday.com and if you buy Disneyland Resort Express vouchers through them, they are only $12/person one way from LAX. Best rate I have found so far. They will send you the vouchers and you just give them to the bus driver when you arrive.
