Hi everyone, great site! My first trip to Disney with hubby and son starts on 11th Jan, we are soooo excited!
We are staying at the santa fe and currently not sure how to go about getting from airport to disney. It seems not too much distance but the coach and trains come in at nearly £100 in total for 3 of us. That seems crazy considering I can hire a car for £96 for 4 days!
Does anyone have any tips or experiences they can share??
Also, with the pound so weak against the euro I was hoping not to have to eat in Disney as so expensive. Are the restaurants outside of disney easily reachable by car?
Is it OK to stock up at b'fast with extra's ie;sneak some into my rucksack?
Any advice for a newbie appreciated!
Thanks, Claire

Hi claire1976,

It is expensive getting from CDG - its a 40-minute car/private shuttle journey, or a one-hour coach journey (the TGV train is only 10 minutes journey time, but again will probably cost around £30 one way for 2 adults, one child).

There is the VRA for the coach, the sncf site for the TGV, or the likes of rstransport for a private transfer. Each of these options are mentioned in more details in the Very Useful Information sticky in this forum :) .

I've stayed at the Santa Fe, but didn't drive there, so can't tell you how long it takes to get to Val d'Europe (the nearest offsite restaurant area) by car. It is one stop on the train between the Disney station and Val d'Europe though, and that only takes a few minutes.

There is a McDonalds in the Village area of Disneyland Paris, or, you may want to consider adding a meal plan to your existing hotel booking. If you have, or can get, a DLRP brochure, the meal plans are listed in great detail there. A meal plan can save you as much as 25% on table service meals and buffets at DLRP, in the hotels, Village and parks. Worth considering if you think you might have one table service meal per day of your stay.

Oh, and its absolutely fine to fill up at breakfast at your hotel, and put a few items in your rucksack for taking into the parks with you later.
