I am going to a conference at DLH at the end of Sept. :thumbsup2 I am flying from Atlanta and there are no direct flights into Long Beach airport. What other airports would be close by and easy to get into and out of that may have direct flights? I would really like to avoid LAX if possible.

Also, since I will be in meetings all day, can you get into the parks at a discount after a certain time? I don't want to pay for a one-day ticket. What are some nicer places to eat around there?

It's been 10+ years since I have been to DL. I am sure a lot has changed since then. Anything tht is a must do?

I would try John Wayne aiport (also called Orange County or Santa Ana.) The airport code is SNA. It's the closest to Disneyland and it's really easy to get in and out of. But I don't think you'll find any direct flights from Atlanta.

I don't think you can get any discount after a certain time of day, sorry.

I never eat at the nicer places so I'm no help with that.

When I was at a conference in Anaheim, we were able to purchase "twilight" tickets for $28 after 4 PM. They were only valid for DL, not CA.

There is also Burbank (about a 30-45 minutes from DL).

I've heard that you can get tickets being in a conference for "twilight".

I looked at Orange County and Burbank. While Orange County does have direct flights, the return is just not going to work for me.

I think I have to fly into LAX. How difficult is is to get to DL from there?

Thanks for the info on the twilight tickets. That may work!

It's not very difficult. Will you be renting a car, taking a shuttle, or ...?

LAX is 35 miles from DLR and there are several different freeway routes you can take, depending on traffic and time-of-day. Once you have info on your arrival and departure times, I'm sure you will get plenty of advice.

You might want to check further on these. I've read that twilight tickets are available through the convention sponsors, if at all. You can't just walk up to a ticket booth at DLR and buy them.

I was just coming to post this. Check with your conference organiser and tell them that you are wanting these and can they get them for you.
