I know one does not normally think of equating one with the other, but has anyone had an evening meal at the Orlando airport? We arrive around the dinner hour, and the little delegates will demand sustanance, and Mrs. Ambassador expects better than average food.

Your recommendations are appreciated. Thank you.

The Orlando airport actually has several restaurants in addition to the normal fast food offerings. I found this on the website for the airport:

"There is an endless variety of places to shop, eat and drink at Orlando International Airport. The options for dining range from fast food at McDonalds (located in Airside 2) to sit down dining at Shipyard Brewport (located in Airside 4). Other sit down dining options include Stinger Ray's (Main Terminal), Chili's Too Lounge (Level 4), Shipyard Brewery & Brew Pub (Main Terminal), McCoy's (Hyatt Airport Hotel), and Hemisphere (Hyatt Airport Hotel). The Food Court in the Main Terminal is home to Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, TCBY Yogurt, Mrs. Field's Cookies, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Cinnabon/Ruby Moon, Stinger Ray's, and Big Apple Bagels. In Airside 1 you will find Burger King, Cinnabon, TCBY Yogurt, P.S. Lounge, and Cafe Azalea. Airside 2 is home to Seattle's Best Coffee, Coco Oasis Bar & Lounge, McDonalds, Sbarro Pizza, Freshen's Treat Center, Johnny Rivers, and Smokehouse Express. The dining options in Airside 3 include Cafe Azalea, The Floribbean Court, Miami Subs, Villa Pizza, Freshens Yogurt, Manatee Lounge, and Don Pepes Cuban Cafe. Finally, in Airside 4 you will find Starbuck's Coffee, Burger King, Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs, Shipyard Brewport, and Fresh Attractions. "

We have eaten at Chili's Too (pretty much your typical Chili's) and the Shipyard Brewery and Bre Pub (pretty good food).

I really don't want to scare anyone but I feel I must tell you our experience at the airport fast food court. We had ordered and were just starting to eat when my daughter kept insisting she saw a mouse. We weren't sure whether she really did or if she had "mickey" on her mine. My husband went back to check and came back and told us to throw our food away it was a rat! Now mind you, the full service restaurants weren't open we were waiting to board our airplane (which had no food service that late) so we flew home to NJ starving. We couldn't wait to get out of the airports and just stop at a McDonald's. The sit down restaurants are probably fine but I'd steer clear of the food court.

sls23 - The info you have is a little outdated....They've completely redone the food court (tore out the old one and completely remodeled it)(The new food court opened before Christmas) - The food court now has a Chick-fila and a Krispy Kreme - and according to the MCO site - they will be getting a Macaroni Grill soon too. BurgerKing is gone.....

DisneyMomx7 - Sorry to hear about your awful experience.....We grabbed sandwiches at Chick-fila and didn't see anything that would cause me to question the food (Or else it would have been snickers bars for dinner! ;) )

The Hyatt hotel is in the airport. It's supposed to have a decent restaurant.

Hi,

I like the McCoys Bar & Grill at the Hyatt ( up the escalator from the central hall). It is good value for money, good service, some windows overlooking the airfield and it was nice and quiet ( nice place to relax from the genreal bustle of the terminal)

Regards
