Airport employees: Is there a "list" of words you cannot say at an airport?

If you are someone like my mother in law, such a list might superceed common sense. I have a real fear of going through an airport with her. I love her dearly but this is what she did that makes me want to fly out of a diff airport than her for our trip, some days her mouth goes before her brain catches up!

At the casino up north of us. She has a loaf of Panera bread she bought as a hostess gift for a family friend. The friend has just hit on a slot machine and is waiting for verification and her money. So M-L deciedes this will take awhile, she will go and get the bread out of her car and bring it to friend as she is heading back home now. M-L tries to bring bag (of bread) into the casino. Security guard stops her and says sorry no packages. M-L explains it is for friend right over there and steps forward to bring it to her. Security guard stops her again, M-L says "It's not like I have a bomb in here!" Oh yes, she was quickly escorted out after they took her bread bag!

Someone asks her something indepth or anything she thinks is personal she says "Its not like I have a bomb in here, or It's not like I am going to bomb the place!" I am 90% sure she will say this at the airport, she just cannot keep that mouth quiet and she doesnt think first.

That reminds me of my mom. We went to WDW with my parents right after 9/11...left Oct 1st to be exact. Well my DH (who is a pharmacist) always seems to set off the alarms with his belt buckle or his shoes for some reason. Well what does my mom say when they pull him aside to search him? "Why do they always have to search the drug dealer?" No kidding I could of killed her right there. Thank goodness no one heard her.

We are going again with them in Sept and I have already warned her about making stupid comments in the airport.

porbably not a good idea to make a big show of saying good bye to the family members dropping you off with 'son after today you will be the man of the family, dear wife-after a respectful period of mourning i give you permission to remarry' or 'we will next meet again in the after-life' ;)

I don'y know if there is a set in stone list but for me I follow the "don't talk about it" rule---When we were heading to WDW and sitting in the airport DH started talking about the security situation and why it was in place and I was giving him the death stare and not saying anything back (I figured if they hauled his butt away at least I wouldn't be going with him and could enjoy my vacation)

So anyways he gets mad at me for not talking to him and I snapped at him "would you just shut up about it already!" and he got even madder and of course then there was no shutting him up about it

I told him if he wanted to talk to someone about hijackers and bombs in the airport then feel free to talk to a security gaurd but don't drag me into it because I was going to WDW with or without him and if he kept it up and someone overheard and they hauled his butt away I was not going to try to explain anything to anyone because his dumb butt couldnt listen to me in the first place.

He was still mad but he shut up about it but then started on "this is America" and the whole freedom of speech thing and I was never so glad to hear a boarding call in my life.

The Southwest terminal for our last flight has this (unintentionally) silly sign up about not packaging bombs or weapons in your luggage. As if the warning wasn't funny enough, there was a picture of a bomb with a line through it. The bomb looked like something straight out of a Roadrunner cartoon. I half expected it to say Acme on the side!

We got the worst case of giggles or that until we remembered where we were.
