Sorry, i know this has been asked but i cannot find it.
how far in advance do we need to be a the buffalo airport for a 6:50 am flight?, and also we want to park and fly, but are worried about the time of the shuttle( if is it early enough)i , so we are scrambling now i guess, we want to stay over on the 16th, what would be the best choice for hotels, we don';t need fancy, but would love an indoor pool for the girls, and somewhere that is clean, we will try to do priceline, i know the marriot is the only 3.5 star, but it seems a little too far away in case the shuttle runs late, can someone give me the names of hotels with like a 3 star rating that are in the area?
thanks!!

Go to Priceline.com and book the Buffalo Niagara Marriott. Request the $60 rate ($77.30 including tax) for the night you're looking for. The Marriott allows up to 2 weeks of free parking, but you have to leave your licence plate number.
Buffalo Niagara is the only 3.5* hotel in Buffalo so you're safe in your booking in getting only that location when you bid. Many others on this board have done it.
Pool is great, indoor, but can get crowded during busy times.
It has a Starbucks, but not open early enough for you.
You should be at the airport for 5:50AM (One hour before for domestic) so you'll have to coordinate with the front desk for the proper shuttle departure time. (Don't forget to tip the driver)
The main thing is HAVE FUN!!!:yay::woohoo::banana:

I still go by the 2 hours before flight time. There is nothing worse than starting your vacation worried about missing your flight. For a 6:50 am flight I would want to be at the airport no later than 5:15....that might even be pushing it for me. I like to get there and get all the business looked after then getting a coffee or something and relaxing.

Keep in mind that the airport is pretty busy for those early morning flights.

I'm the same. I like being there with time to spare.

i really would like to stay at the marriot, but i do no think their shuttle starts until after 5:00am, does anyone know the cost of a cab to the airport? from the marriot?.
Are there any other hotels that offer free parking?

thanks for all the help we ended up booking the Marriot for 60.00, with the free parking for the week, and they said we could arrange for the shuttle to come early..yipee!

Congratulations! Glad you could get that rate! If you're looking for 2 beds, if you haven't done so, call the hotel to be sure you have enough room for your whole group. The Priceline rooms always default to one bed for up to 2 people. Just be sure you have enough beds for all your heads ;)

thanks, hubby just called, and requested the 2 beds, they had us in a king room, and they changed it to 2 doubles, there are 4 of us.

I am in a lot the same situation. We have a 7:30am flight out of Buffalo in July. I booked just a hotel and will then just drive to the airport and park myself. That way I avoid any airport shuttle problem. Also I found you could book a room much cheaper without the "free" hotel parking while you are away. You save about the same price that you will pay to park at the airport.

I've never used Priceline before. Could I use it to book a larger room? I need a room for a family of 6. How would I go about doing that?

Thanks for all your tips.

I am not a frequent priceline user, but I believe that the most you can get for the priceline price would be a room for 4, though the 5 of us, including a 3 yr old, fit in quite well in the room since it also came with a pullout.

I agree with canadaman. Better to look for somewhat cheaper hotel with parking facility in case you plan to hire a car.
