ok so i should cash in my airmiles for our passes before the points go up to reflect the higher cost of them...or should i wait it out til there is a 'sale' on them .....we are going at christmas so i have lots of time...and i have all the points i need. but a 'sale' is so much better.
:confused3

Airmiles doesn't raise the number of miles required until they have to order a new batch of passes. The gate price has nothing to do with what AM is doing. However, they don't give any warning that they will be changing the number of miles.

In the past they have had a deal of the week on WDW tickets in the spring. It didn't happen this year.

I waited for a 'sale' too but did not happen, so I went ahead and redeemed just y/day. On the site it says 1 to 2 weeks for delivery, but my confirmation email said 3-4 weeks. I'm covered either way, but just thought I'll let you know.

On another note, I also found out that you can add on days to these tickets when you get there i.e add days not hopper. So I ended up redeeming for the 3 day tickets and will upgrade to 7 when we get there as I found it costs less that way and then I can save my miles for another trip:lmao:

I too am hoping for a sale at some point.

As for buying the 3 day base and upgrading - we did this as well and were told (on the boards) that it is better to use the exisiting passes at least once before upgrading....if you use once then the cost is gate price from 3 day to whatever you upgrade to, but if the pass is not used, they know the 'discount' the pass was sold at to Airmiles and then you have to pay the difference (which is higher than the gate price). Make sense?

how much do you think it costs to upgrade from a 3 day to a 7 day?

Are the tickets issued by Airmiles paper tickets? I always find people inline at Disney have trouble with paper tickets in the card reader upon entering the theme parks.

Can you have these tickets added on to your Key to the world card?

It's whatever the cost is at that time. I checked right now and for 3 of us (2 adults 1 kid) it will cost us about 50 USD. HTH

This is my 1st time doing this and all I know as of now is that these are 'regular' MYW tickets. I can't wait to use them and then I can post here on how it worked.

Yes, they are paper tickets. I have had paper tix about 4 times in the last few years and never once had an issue at the gate. The probelms tend to be with the biometric scanners not the tix.

Yes, you can have them added to your KTTW card.

Hi everyone, I redeemed a 3 day adult base ticket from Airmiles last year. We used it during the past March break and I paid around $50US to upgrade to a 5 day park hopper.

I received my tickets today - impressive as I ordered it only on the 5th. Watch it going on sale soon.
