My lonely airmile for Shell posted but not the MM ones, so I'll wait that out, I know it's historically been a slower one to post but I did opt in so it better work!

Same here. The lonely one posted quickly [quicker than normal!], but not the MM bonus one. Did opt in.

BTW, does anyone know if you can get the MM bonus ones using the Shell app to pay ? I wasn't willing to risk it so paid at the pump, but since Covid have normally been using the shell app to pay -- contactless and it usually [but not always] works [there is one station near us that it sometimes has trouble with so I have just stopped getting gas there].

GAWD i hate these promos at times, and even more so during the first week or when new coupons get added and I'm afraid this year will be even worse. Most stores will have NO idea that Mega Miles is even happening because they didn't receive information about it, no booklets, no signs (that I've seen yet anyway) and a ton of new cashiers who have no idea nor do they care about Airmiles in the first place!

To answer the questions about Safeway:

  1. YES, they should have been able to use the code in the app because it states right in the offer and on the coupon "Show Barcode" It should have been scanable (is that a word?) and if not then keying in the code should have worked.
  2. There are 2 different types of offers from the Sobey's chain - ones that are in flyers or promos like this direct from Airmiles and the ones that are targeted and called "My Offers" 2 separate departments, 2 separate ways to chase down miles that don't talk to each other
  3. You can go ahead and use either the online chat, Facebook Messenger(open 24/7 BTW) or phone and "maybe" (BIG maybe that depends on the agent you connect with, some will others will play the company line of wait X days)they will post the miles to your account immediately. HOWEVER, and this applies to ANY missing miles, all they will post as is "missing miles" there will be NO connection to Mega Miles no matter how much the agent promises you, you will still need to chase them down once the promo ends and posts.
The last point #3 needs frequent repeating and I will do it again in a separate post and update it on the first page. Chasing down miles right now will serve NO purpose unless you are wanting those miles right now for something urgent (maybe you have your eye on an item in the merchandise section or you need the cash miles to apply to groceries next week) I suggest just waiting till the promo wraps up. This is when it is EXTREMELY important to keep every single scrap of paper, receipt, copies of coupons bundled up together in a safe spot, you can't get the miles if you have no proof. So unless you enjoy taking time to chat twice, I suggest finding a way to get rid of the current anger (which is justifiable IMHO) -- I'm making bread, good release while kneading the dough :P and then trust that you will be able to get the miles eventually.

Pictures of information on the Mega Miles site about how to get the miles that SPECIFICALLY says showing the barcode from your phone They are really pushing for contact-free due to COVID-19View attachment 518993
AND from the back of the Safeway coupon that it says you can print OR show your phone

Did a Facebook chat and they told me they were able to add it in the back end so I should be fine but to watch and ensure it posts properly and if not put in a missing miles request. We’ll see what actually happens. Lol.

I hope so, I prefer to use the app but it was giving me grief on Saturday so I paid a the pump. I have been using the app since Covid as well. I believe this is one that works more than once so if I need gas again I'll be using the app (and hoping it works properly, it had forgotten my airmiles account which defeats the purpose).

Well, you'll know as soon as it posts to your account -- if it shows up as "missing miles" then, sorry but it has NEVER ended up counting towards the promo for me because there's no coupon # on your account. IF you're lucky enough to see it post as coming from Safeway then you *might* be lucky.

BTW, I prefer using Messenger than any other method of communication if for no other reason than i can go about my day and my phone will let me know when they've responded instead of sitting at the computer waiting, and waiting, losing connection etc

Assuming I don't have the issues some of you had with Staples, I'm done!

1. Staples ordered a new Chromebook for DS for school
2. Charged Staples to my BMO m/c, plus gas and groceries yesterday, well over the $500 total
3. Went through airmilesshop for Staples
4. Sobeys for groceres (got over 500AM here, it was like a blue friday of old! DS goes through rice cakes an cheerios like crazy, they were perfect items for me)
5. Fill up at Shell
Off topic a little. Looking at Chromebooks as well, but have no idea what to look for for grade 8 and 4. If I go with them and go to staples then I might be able to get 3 done. Is the pricing at staples comparable to best buy or other places?

Well I'm late to the game but I'm in. I can't believe some of you are done already! So much stuff was going on over the last few days that although I knew MM was back, I just didn't have time to deal with it. We really need groceries though so I'm off to Sobey's for some shopping. :) I'll probably need to get gas as well from Shell. That takes care of 2 on my card. I was going to book our one night stay through MM to make it a 3rd, but a family member knows the owner of the hotel and knocked just over $55 off the normal rate. That made it worth not going through AM travel.

With us going to Ottawa overnight on Thursday, I'll be able to do a Shell on my husband's card and my daughter's card as well.

Ohh, in case anyone is wondering as I didn't see this posted yet. A friend shopped at Staples (in-store). The Cashier entered the AM code and on her receipt it says "Staples Coupon No.: 75171". I told her she should be fine since that's the code on the back of the coupon in the AM APP. Just keep the receipt!

Our school board has a program with Staples for their "recommended" devices, so I went with one of those. From what I could tell, the pricing seemed to be comparable with other places. DS specifically wanted a touchscreen, so those are a bit pricier. He's had a cheaper one since grade 4, but it's starting having battery/shutdown issues, and we had promised him last year he'd get an upgrade when he went to grade 7, so it's on the way...

Quick glance at both Best Buy and Staples shows a basic Chromebook on sale for $100 OFF at Staples . Caveat, there are none in stock for delivery so you'd need to drive around to get it from a store! You can still order it online to get the coupons done though, just select in-store pickup. I don't think there's really much difference in price between the stores AND it looks like they offer price matching!

What she said :) Our school board also has a program if you want to do that. My dad got my son's from the US because it's military grade (can stop a bullet, so it won't break if he "drops" it).

I've spent a fair bit of time finishing up the first page of this thread updating the information, adding details for certain offers, checking links and other exciting housekeeping tasks :P

Here's what's included in each of the posts.

  1. Includes basic information about the promo and historical timeline for previous promos
  2. includes links to the terms & conditions and FAQs for the promo as well as the information regarding Shell - opt in, never see miles on receipt and wait for miles to post to account, same as every other promo but still nerve-wracking
  3. includes files of all of the offers for Ontario, Alberta, BC, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, NWT, Nova Scotia & Nunavit
  4. includes information about offers that require no cash outlay (other than MasterCard, but that doesn't really count as extra cash if you use it to pay for the other offers!) Also included here is detailed instructions on the proven hack to double your miles when placing an Amazon order
  5. is everything about online ordering and includes a running list of multipliers the stores have in case you need to chase down miles later
  6. is a list of people who have offered to help do coupons for other hunters **As of now, this post is empty
  7. is a list of coupon codes that appear on receipts and what eventually posts to accounts
  8. is an explanation of how to print the coupons and the files of all the offers for PEI, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Thunder Bay and Yukon
If you have any information to add to any of these posts, tag me and let me know so i can add them. If anyone has a question and you think the answer is in one of the first 8 posts, please point them in the right direction. I'm doing my best to tread water these days but occasionally i get a tad overwhelmed!!

I'm not sure what is wrong with my brain but I'm having difficulty trying to keep the offers straight and double or triple dip if possible. Can you guys help me figure out the best way to buy AirPods? Should I buy a gift card from somewhere or buy them from Staples using my BMO or buy them from airmilesshop, or is there a better way to get the most offers completed?

You could buy a gift card with your BMO card from one of the sponsor's (Metro, Shell, Sobeys, etc) or if you plan to buy them at Staples you can just use the card there. If you plan to use Staples, you should do it through airmilesshop and your BMO card, then you can get 3 in one shot! Well, depending on how much they are (since you need to spend $250 on the BMO card). Make sure you use the coupon code on Staples.

Ok, this is great. I've never shopped on airmileshop but if it gets me 3 offers I'll try it. Now I just have to hope I do it right and not screw it up. Thank you!

I tried to get fancy with a Staples order and they mucked it up. I will be able to fight it down the road but I don't want to wait until then. Slow and steady wins the race. Single trustworthy offers are the way to go. I'm going to a brick and mortar store tomorrow to make sure it works.

Screen shot each page you go through with Airmileshops. It takes a bit of time but well worth it if things go wrong.

I bought thru Staples via the online shop and I have received my items already today and now I wait for the airmiles to show up. I will be fighting one of the last promotions because I spent $176 and I earned 1 measly airmile - yes only 1 because they shipped my order in 5 separate orders. I have taken screen captures of every screen every time now so I am prepared for the battle. Let the games begin. :cheer2: :surfweb:

Since this is your first online shop thru the airmiles portal you don't need to spend as much! You'll get to use this coupon:
519420
if you do end up spending over $150 then you'll also get the bonus for using this coupon as well:

519421
Add the points from the Staples coupon not a set amount here, 25X but assuming you spend $120 (just for sake of math since they give 1 mile /$40 you'll get 75 miles for that, PLUS the miles that come from the online shopping as well -1 mile/$20, they add up if you play the game properly! Take your time, and follow the steps carefully.

Juniorbugman, I have a question about this. So even though you spent more than the required $150, you will have to follow up after Megamiles is over because your order was shipped in separate batches? I am curious because of my own order on Amazon.ca. I spent $200, but the order was divided into three shipments. I printed out the original order showing the total spend. Should I expect to have a fight on my hands?

Yes. If they split it up they charge it in the smaller amounts and I don't think I've heard of anyone having the AM post properly for that. For these types of promos I would try and purchase something "big" enough to be the dollar amount alone or, for amazon, do the "reload credit card trick" that @Donald - my hero outlines as that can't be split up. It's annoying for sure.
