I've been trying to determine the best deal to use my Airmiles. I have around 5200 and would have 6000-6500 come summer.

Car rental (intermediate, 9 days 21 - 30 dec) - 2790 at Alamo plus 235$ taxes

5day WDW Base ticket (2170 X 3 adult ticks +1830 child)

Universal tickets 2 days around 2700 1 day

SeaWorld around 2600.

Any of thes items on verge of becoming "airmiles deal of the week"?

I think your WDW ticket prices are off.

The website states it's 2170 for a 5-day base adult pass and 1830 for the base child 5-day pass.

If I'm wrong, please tell me where to get these deals!!!!:goodvibes

you're so right! thanks for pointing that out. I have a worksheet with the #'s but did a quick check on the site and entered wrong info(sorry...).

Just a tip on the car rental.
I found it cost me alot less airmiles to get my car rental using airmiles National GC's as opposed to booking the rental thru airmiles.
It was going to be more than 2000 airmiles to rent a car for a week thru them.
I used 975 airmiles to get 150.00 worth of National GC's and applied it them to a reservation I made myself..at this point I am only paying about 57.00 after the GC's came off (45.00 of that is the taxes-can't use GC's against the taxes).
So if you can get a great deal on rental yourself at Alamo or National this may be a better way to use those miles..it will save alot you can put towards other things!

my rental is for one week..so yours would cost a bit more.
as well just to note..you only order a max of 2 100.00 gc's or 3 50.00 gc's.

I didn't realize National had GC's too! (1300 AM for 200$) I joined the Emerald Club just in case for ease of pickup and return. Would it be a hassle to apply the GC's to the ressie? The cost for 9 days is 289 (+ taxes and fees of course)375 total US.

Thanks for the info!

When I last checked it was only 625 Airmiles for a 100.00 National Gift Cert--so you should only need 1250 airmiles.
I use Emerald Aisle as well..I booked my car online using EA, then when my GC's came I just went in and modified the reservation and adding in the GC numbers-I was able to do this with no problem, it was nice to take 150.00 off my reservation! I found it be pretty easy to do the modification and shows the new price right away. Just have to be sure to remember to the GC's with us..lol!

I can't thank you enough....:worship:

I'll have some airmiles for other stuff.:yay:

You can also get the child park tickets and pay to upgrade them to adult passes after you get to WDW.

Just a little note....the park tickets are pretty much at par right now through the Disney Store. So you might want to purchase those and use your AM for the Universal or Seaworld tickets.

I agree with the comment about ordering the gift certificates for the car rental - so many less airmiles, that yuo may be able to do $200 in gift certs and universal tickets, or at least 2 of your WDW tickets. This is what we have have done for our two trips and it has worked out well.

I agree with the GC's, We have a mid-size rented for 10 days over eEaster holidays and it was $322., not much more than your taxes.

Thanks. Reserved midsize this morning through Emerald Club for 275$ (9days) and ordered 200$ GC's from Airmiles.
